Sarah Clarke (Renee Dwyer) ... is married to actor Xander Berkley

Stephenie Meyer appears in Twilight as the woman at counter who gets a Veggie Plate
Katie Powers who appears as a waitress in the background at the diner ... is Kristen Stewart's Stunt Double.

For the role of Edward Cullen, Robert Pattinson flew from England to director Catherine Hardwicke's house to audition. There, he and Kristen Stewart, who was already cast as Bella Swan, rehearsed the "Love Scene"/"Meadow Scene" on Hardwicke's own bed.

Kristen Stewart has naturally green eyes. She wears brown contacts for filming to match Bella's eye color.

All of the actors playing the Cullens wear topaz-colored contacts

Jessica in the movie is a combination of the characters Jessica Stanley and Lauren Mallory from the book.

Eric in the movie is a combination of the characters Eric Yorkie and Ben Cheney from the book.

When Bella is searching the internet and finds the link for the bookstore in Port Angeles, the link above it is for Little Brown. Little Brown is the publisher of the Twilight Saga.

At the cafeteria salad bar, Bella drops an apple which Edward picks back up and then cradles in his hands, copying the cover image of the Twilight novel.

Stephenie Meyer cited the band Muse as her source of inspiration to write her books. Another of her favorite groups is Linkin Park, who contributed a song in the soundtrack.

At a midnight screening in Texarkana, Texas, Nov. 27, 2008, a gentleman dropped to his knee with a ring as the credits rolled. To the delight of the screaming crowd, he asked his girlfriend if theirs might be as enduring and unconditional a love as the one shared by Edward and Bella.

In the hospital scene, when Bella and her mother are talking about the accident, the TV in the background can be seen playing the previous scene.

It took 36 hours to turn 'Nikki Reed''s naturally brunette hair to blonde.

All of the Cullens can be seen wearing jewelry with the same symbol on it. Edward, Jasper, and Emmett all had the same wristband, and Alice and Rosalie had similar necklaces with the symbol on it; Esme had a bracelet and Carlisle had a ring.

The jacket worn by Solomon Trimble in the LaPush beach scene was handmade by his mother from a Pendleton blanket.

Robert Pattinson unknowingly contributed two songs to this film. Apparently, he didn't know that "a mysterious third party" had given the director a copy of music he had recorded years ago. She decided to use two of the songs, and he was surprised to hear them when viewing early film footage. The songs are: "Never Think" [playing during the restaurant scene] and "Let Me Sign" (plays during the scene where Edward has to drink Bella's blood to save her). Pattinson said he was overwhelmed by how well "Let Me Sign" fit into the film.

Stephenie Meyer wrote a parallel novel (unfinished) to 'Twilight' called 'Midnight Sun.' It tells the story of the first book from Edward's point of view. In it, he comments that the arrival of Bella to the school has all of the boys "acting like they're in first grade and she's the shiny new toy". This thought is spoken aloud by Jessica during Bella's first lunch in the cafeteria.

The original release date for Twilight was December 12, 2008. When the release date for 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)' was moved from November 21, 2008, to July 17, 2009, Twilight's release date was moved forward to November 21 in a attempt to fill the Harry Potter gap.

Catherine Hardwicke has said that she filmed a scene with' Robert Pattinson' taken directly out of 'Midnight Sun', the unfinished novel by Stephenie Meyer telling the story of Twilight through Edward's perspective. Hardwicke said this scene will be on the DVD.

The Cullen family crest (seen worn by all the Cullens) is a lion with a hand over its head, and a downward pointing Chevron with 3 clovers. The lion was added because of the famous line "And so the Lion fell in love with the Lamb", but the other portions (Chevron, clovers, and hand) are from the actual Cullen Coat of Arms, though there are only 2 clovers, more hands, and a bail of hay in the real one.

Even though there is a song by Radiohead in the movie, it never made it to the official soundtrack album.

Stephenie Meyer had her own personal cast before all the roles were officially casted. They including Emily Browning as Bella Swan, Henry Cavill as Edward Cullen, Charlie Hunnam as Carlisle Cullen, Mary-Louise Parker as Esme Cullen, Rachael Leigh Cook as Alice Cullen, Trent Ford as Jasper Hale, Tom Welling as Emmett Cullen and Olivia Wilde as Rosalie Hale.

cool.gif info, Nosee!

That was indeed cool info

Thanks for that Watcher smile.gif

Continuity: In the scene where Bella is in the hospital, when the camera is up close to her face, the breathing tubes are right by her eyes, but when the shot is far from her face, the tubes are sitting on her cheeks.

Visible crew/equipment: When Bella pulls up in her truck for her first day at Forks High, as the camera pans from her truck as she parks it into shot, you can see the camera and boom reflected in the triangular window.

Continuity: When Bella and Edward talk in the woods, Bella drops her backpack behind a tree. The backpack then moves in front of the tree, and then disappears. Since the backpack is bright red, it's hard to miss.

I didn't notice any of these ... and I've seen it 9 times so far! blush.gif

How 'bout you? look.gif
Tekgirl
Nosee, thanks for all the fun factoids... Here's one that I just thought of (having just seen the movie, again, today: Bella's truck has those handy dandy air vent windows that went the way of the dodo when car manufactures were redesigning cars/trying to make cars look more sleek/trying to save money... I sure do miss those tilt-able/angle-able windows. They were a great alternative to air conditioning. Oh, I think I just remembered that they were called 'wind wings." Is that right? It's been so long since we've had them on cars.

One more.... did anyone besides me notice that Bella's mom does not shave her armpits? I wonder if this was a choice of the actress playing Renee or if they were trying to give Renee a very hippie look. (If my history books are correct, not all hippies were against razors. wink.gif )

And a big whitey.gif and a bigger woohoo.gif about the Midnight Sun scene teaser that will be in the DVD. Hmm... in all of your trivia research, have you found out if there is a release date for the DVD?

I love the fact that the previous scene was playing on the TV in the hospital. I may just have to see the movie again to verify that... wink.gif
Watcher
Hi Tek! wave.gif

Not for lack of trying, but I still haven't found any mention even hinting of a release date for the DVD! shrug.gif

On the Hippie Razor avoidance ... from what I recall ... err... I mean what tales I heard in history class ( look.gif ) ... there were varying degrees of hippies ... perhaps the ones in the communes shunned (or lacked) razors ... the ones in the more affluent suburbs were perhaps outrageoulsy, but under it all well-groomed.... at least that's what I've heard ... grin.gif

Selkie
Apparently, Summit released a DVD cover yesterday. This is from Perez Hilton's website.

Awesome!

Thanks Selkie! worship.gif

Nosee, I just read your "twilight payday blues/twi-things you want to buy" poem. Excellent! ......Re HRA (Hippie Razor Avoidance), as I recall my Mom telling me about those days, many hippie women were not razor adverse. It's just an oddity that Bella's mom has unshaven pits because that's not something you see very much of these days (thankfully).

Selkie, thud.gif Oh my! That proposed DVD cover is fabulous. And it’s a two disk DVD! whitey.gif That would seem that we’ll be getting a whole DVD’s worth of goodies, extras and BTS stuff! Now, if Summit Studios or Perez Hilton would only tell us the release date...... look.gif Thanks for sharing the info.
Watcher
Hi and thanks, Tek! wave.gif

Agree on the HRA ... nod.gif

Tek's Plea ...

Why can't you sparkle ... why can't you shine?
why can't that Cullen ... guy become mine?
I want a Vampire ... all of my own ...
one who will never ... leave me alone ...
I want an Edward ... here by my side ...
I long to be ... a Vampire Bride ...
first in the Twilight ... then, the New Moon ...
and in The Eclipse ... that's coming soon ...
now's not enough ... I've got to go on ...
there's an eternity ... a new Breaking Dawn.

look.gif
Tekgirl
Oh Nosee glow.gif That is so great! (And, sadly, too true) Thank you for that wonderful poem. glow.gif It's so terrific that twilight has inspired you to write new poetic gems!

You're most welcome Tek ...

Continuity: Chapter 3 "Big Day"

In Breaking Dawn, Bella makes pancakes for Charlie, after some dialog Charlie "scowls into his cerel bowl".
Tekgirl
OK, how come with a budget of $20 mil they couldn't afford to get Charlie a metal police badge? All of his Forks Police Department badges are patches - similar to what "rent-a-cop" security guards have. ...Were they afraid that Bella would cut herself on his metal badge or something?

I caught that. ")

I missed that, but, I did notice auto track problems in the baseball scene. When Bella and Edward drive to the baseball diamond, their car sinks into the rainy, wet ground and squashes the grass leaving tracks. When they drive away from the diamond at a different angle, you can see a second set of tracks from a second take of driving onto the field. I guess they didn't have enough money in the budget to "fluff up the grass" for the second take.

Great bunch of trivia there Watcher.

I only noticed the breathing tubes being in different places. I was looking for the backpack later in the scene and especially wondered if she ever retrieved it and all that was in it since their trip up the mountain was without it. Clearly, a PA picked it up since it disappeared on screen. It's funny to catch continuity problems like that and intentional gags like the previous scene showing on the TV monitor in the hospital. I'll have to watch it again to see that. Darn. There are some in the LOTR trilogy I have yet to go back and look for but they're fun.

Copy that last sentence. grin.gif My 1990 Dodge Ramcharger had those fresh air windows, perhaps one of the last vehicles to do so. An email I got email from Amazon today says the estimated arrival date for the DVD I ordered is April 1 - April 7, 2009. The cover art looks great.

I thought about that the first time I saw Twilight but I think that's actually pretty normal. They pulled into the field straight and parked it. When they left, in a hurry, it's not like they were going to be careful to follow the same tracks out and had to turn do a U-turn to leave so they just made a big loop. I did have to wonder if they had to pay big bucks to the park they were shooting in or some kind of compensation for the damage done.
Tekgirl
Arrggg!!! I was typing a post and something went all spineyes.gif and my post was abduct.gif I shouldn't yield to the temptation to write posts in the post window. I'll try to write it again later.
Tekgirl
<<sigh>>

so what, as I recall, when their car pulled straight out from where it was parked, there were already 2 sets of tire tracks on the grass; then they made that u-turn. idea.gif Maybe I should see the movie just one more time to check out your theory. wink.gif

I noticed in the “I know what you are” forest scene, Edward’s proximity to Bella is closer some times than others.
Tekgirl
Here's one more I noticed: When Edward is wearing his grey jacket, sometimes he wears the collar up and other times he doesn’t. Maybe he’s a Gemini and can’t decide which way he likes it best? grin.gif That’s my theory.
Nomad
Well, maybe I'll have to see it again to clear up the tire tracks issue--strictly for research purposes, of course. grin.gif Three day weekend coming up so that might be part of it. Good way to escape the cold and I think there's something happening on Tuesday which might draw a crowd around here. skep.gif Maybe I'll have a theater all to myself this weekend. And maybe I should see one of the other films out like Slumdog or Benjamin Button, if Twilight moves on. Hmmm.
Tekgirl
Nomad, I think we both should see twilight again just to clear up that pesky tire track issue. wink.gif ....Congrats on having a very short work week.

I read that the "nomad" vamps wore flesh colored neoprene foot-shaped booties to protect their feet when they did their outside barefoot scenes. (Or did Nosee already post that?)
so_what
in the forest scene at one point the grey jacket edward wears is broken. one of the shoulder things is unbuttoned, presumably as a result of previously shooting the carrying scene.

also in the greenhouse scene the 'compost tea' gets bigger and smaller in the glass depending on camera angle (not to mention the questionable nutrient value of water with dirt in it!)

in a UK radio interview with Rob and Kristin they say that they did the up the tree scene on their own and that it was really dangerous because if they fell they would fall a long way to a platform. in the movie companion the picture shows them with wires on, and the platform is right at their feet! someone was evidently feeling dramatic that day

I'm with ya. Thanks.

I wondered about how they kept their feet warm and dry walking around in all of the mud, rain, cold and snow in February.
Tekgirl
Neoprene booties - that's their secret. wink.gif
Rigginsfan07
Hmm interesting

thanks Tek for posting that info on Twilight also again to Nosee for his great twivial facts...
Tekgirl
so what, interesting bits of trivia. Thanks.

Seth, the more you see the movie, the more you’ll notice. Nosee has the really great factoids, I just notice the oddities for the most part.

Here’s one.. (can you tell I’ve seen the movie too many times)? As Bella leaves the bookstore in Port Angeles, one of the paperback books on the rack is by Rush Limbaugh. look.gif OK… I’m not going to make a single political comment about that. nono.gif Though I really, really want to.
Tekgirl
look.gif It's been too quiet on this thread...

Here's one more: Did anyone notice that when Edward opens the front door for Bella to leave for the prom, the front door sticks and he has to give it a second pull?

Hey, Nosee, you've seen the movie more than once... Have you caught any trivia or gaffes or points to ponder from your latest viewing?

look.gif What about everyone else? look.gif
Cat8myhomework
I have to wait for the DVD to see it again sad.gif I need more info!
Tekgirl
Cat, we're all going to have to wait until the end of March for that. bawl.gif
Nomad
Okay, there is more than one set of tire tracks. Either that is from multiple takes of the same scene or perhaps we are to think those are the result of one trip to get all of the Cullens and their gear their before Edward picks up Bella since the Jeep is the only one of their vehciles which could make it through the mud. Carlisle did say they maintain a permanent residence nearby when confronting James, Laurent and Victoria so maybe they just walked and the tire tracks are just the result of multiple takes.

I didn't notice the door sticking. Will have to see it again... but it's gone from my favorite theater.

The day Edward and Bella show up at school together, he's wearing sunglasses and the scene is supposed to be on a sunny day (it even says so in the book about the production) but he doesn't sparkle and doesn't seem concerned about it, besides saying he's going to hell.
Tekgirl
Ooh, good one Nomad. I was too busy noticing the expressions of pride, embarrassment, pleasure and more on Edward's face to notice the "non-sparkle" gaffe. ...I think that the second set of tire tracks are from second take. I would bet that the Cullens just "dashed" over to the baseball field because they can run so fast.

Did anyone notice the 8 track cassettes in Edward's music collection? grin.gif ...Because he's lived a long time, it makes sense that he would have all sorts of media - vinyl, CDs. 8 tracks are more.

<<<Sigh>>> I think I've run out of bloopers and twi-trivia.... that is unless I see the movie again and discover some new ones. grin.gif
Tekgirl
Wellll.... I did see the movie again and remember something I wanted to post about. When Bella is being harassed by the frat boys, did you notice the amorous couple above them? It wasn't very nice of the couple to abandon Bella when the frat boys became menacing. ....Actually, I was wondering why Catherine and/or the screenwriter put them in the scene at all.

I posted this on the TOTOs thread, but if you didn't see my post, this is pretty funny:

…I just saw this and nearly PIMP! Someone has seen twilight as many times as a few of us here ….<<<cough, cough>> look.gif Di & Nosee (and me grin.gif) … She noticed the stuffed owl behind Edward in the biology class. The outstretched wings of the owl make Edward look like an angel. lmao.gif Here’s a link to the Angel Edward vid. She points out a few other things such as Jasper's similarity to Edward Scissorhands (which we noticed the first time we saw twilight, didn’t we?) and Edward's growl at the offending frat boys (which I did miss, however).
Tekgirl
look.gif No one has checked out Edward the Angel? Too bad; it's PIMP funny.

I guess I'm the only one keeping this thread alive.

I noticed something else... grin.gif ....In the baseball game, Esme and others wear baseball caps with the letter C (for Cullen) on it... but Rosalie's cap has the letter G. What's up with that???? G for.... grumpy? (which she often is)
Watcher
Angel Edward is pretty cool ... amazing if that was by accident! nod.gif

didn't notice the 'G' ... guess I'll have to go see it again this weekend. .. lol.gif

Tekgirl
Nosee, I think it's your responsibility to see twilight again to make sure that I'm right about Rosalie's cap with a G.

Here's another thing to look for: when Bella is surfing the internet, her keyboard makes typewriter key clicking sounds. When was the last time you heard anyone's keyboard do that? And would she go out of her way to download an ap to make her KB sound like a typewriter? I don't think so.
Watcher
Okay ... if you insist ... I'll go see it again... lol.gif
Tekgirl
I insist, Nosee. grin.gif

And here's one more thing to comment about (that is until we all get our copies of the DVD and then the posts will be flying off the page)...

When Edward and Bella are sitting in the trees and talking about Edward being a vamp, lucky Kristen is nice and dry. Poor Rob, he's sitting right next to Kristen, but he must have been sitting under his own personal cloud or something; he's getting rained on enough to drown. Poor guy must have really been freezing - it was cold and then he was stuck in the rain, too. I wonder why Catherine chose to film the scene that way; wouldn't Edward have been smart enough to move out of the rain? shrug.gif
