Over on another forum some suggestions were made for who could fill the boots of Lois Lane in the reboot of Superman

I think Katie would be perfect. She knows how to play strong, high maintenance but classy women and she would look perfect in the role (with a little hair dye lol.gif )

What do other people think? do you think it would be good for her career or not?

It's the hair dye possibility that scares me! lol.gif Remember the Roswell brown do fiasco? wink.gif

Hey Hopefulsuicide - welcome to the message board.

I think she could certainly play the role exceptionally - she has everything the role demands including being able to bring some humour to the character.

However...whether it would be the right thing for her...I doubt it. If the movie became another Dark Knight..then maybe..but I am not sure really sure that it would be a good choice if you look at the options.

It just seems to me that it would be probably very much a supporting role ...with Superman and the villains having more to do. Right now she is the lead in her movies and reportedly one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood. In a Superman movie she would be second fiddle to the main characters and I am not sure that would fit. If it was a big enough blockbuster with a script that had a lot of involvement for her character...maybe.

Her hair is naturally darker than the blonde it is normally on Grey's Anatomy...and brown really suits her when it is longer in my opinion. So I don't think the hair would be an issue at all. That is all part of assuming the role.

I just think right now, that there are better choices for Katherine at this stage in her career, but I have no doubt if she was cast she would do an excellent job.

IDK being a comic book nut myself I think, for me personally, it would depend on the script, director, and etc. It's hard to pull off Superman in any era one is in, and not many has excelled in giving these iconic characters justice. Superman: The Movie, one of my personal favorites, is still hailed as one of the best comic book movies in history despite the too campy Lex Luthor(even though some scenes Gene Hackman was awesome "those cat like reflexs" lol.gif). After that movie came out all the other Superman movies just feel flat even though I am a big fan of Superman 2 and Superman Returns. It's just Superman is such a hard iconic character to pull off because everyone has their own idea of how this character should be like shrug.gif. Superman is still one of my favorite comic book characters, and I continue to read his comics when I have enough spare change to buy the graphic novels.

That said I am looking forward to the Superman reboot, but I'm so getting off tangent here doh.gif. I would love to see Katherine in a good comic book movie nod.gif. Katherine is great in strong-willed, yet vulerable characters, and I can see her being a great Lois.

That's a million dollar question that is hard to answer with out a Seer present lol. Speculation-wise if the new Superman film is done in high calibur style like Chris Nolan's Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, X-Men 1 & X-Men 2, or even the recent Iron Man I think it has a chance in not only making more opportunities for those who star in it but it can also give the Superman franchaise a much needed boost nod.gif. 'Cause even though I think the tv show Smallville was good in it's prime it's still not cutting it shrug.gif.

The hair I don't see being a problem because I have to agree with hopefulsuicide that it had to do with the style they put Katherine's hair in during Roswell S3. I actually loved that chocolate brown hair color, and Katie is naturally brunette-blonde anyways lol. It's just some of the styles they did with the hair was a bit skep.gif. Though there was some great hairstyles I enjoyed during Roswell S3, such as "Panacea" or "Interruptus".

lol... i actually loved her hair on roswell season 3 hide.gif lol.gif just some times they made these hair styles AHAHA xD anyway ... still she looks gorgeous!
i think she can pull both blonde and brown off...
so definitely the hair wouldnt concern me xD
now the role... i think right now she needs to do leading roles... so if her role on superman isnt really that important... even though im sure she'd manage to make everyone keep an eye on her during the whole movie... just waiting for her to appear... lol... at least she would do that to me xD... well then i think she should do other movies... Although if the script is THAT good... then maybe it would be good...
I think she'll know what to do =D... and she'll always surprise us and make us happy with her work *.*
hanniz_heigl
