It was a decent episode because even though once again there was an obivious array of cast bloatage Izzie got some quality scenes that progressed her story along through friendship scenes with Meredith and Cristina to ship-orientated scenes with Imagination Denny and Alex.

Izzie's break-up with Imagination Denny was so bittersweet . She wants to do all these things with him, but she can't because Denny's dead. She, obiviously, has no future with him, so she has to cut ties. The dialogue by Izzie to Denny in this scene is very moving I thought . Denny's last line to Alex "we gotta talk" is probably to fool the audience because it's noticeable Alex didn't even acknowledge Denny's precense. Hopefully the "gotta talk" line means we are now going to get into the illness section of this storyline. Or gearing up for the reveal since it feels like we are getting there from Dizzie's break-up to A/I getting closer. I could be wrong, but that's what it feels like at the moment .

Owen's reveal of what happened to him in the Middle East was also moving because of how it was done. Kevin McKidd did a great job telling Owen's story fully clothed in the shower. Next to Dizzie's break-up scene Owen's reveal has to be one of my favorite scenes from this episode. Mama Shepard was a treat to see, and her motherly interaction with Owen knowing he hasn't been sleeping. So Meredith finally did it -- she broke the doctor's oath -- by doing harm (confirmed in the writer's blog) to William, and perhaps a bit of forshadowing in regards to Izzie's storyline when Meredith said hallucinations were apart of brain hemorrhaging.

Bailey's storyline with Jackson continues to so sad, and really emphasizes how much she is like Izzie. A callback to season 3 perhaps. Mark was beyond adoreable in this episode from his avoiding of Mama Shepard to figuring out his new venture in life with Lexie, and a hot long shirtless scene in the beginning . It was annoying that George was basically a glorified extra in this episode .

Overall I did like the episode which is a step up from last week where I was completely indifferent to it .

That's how I saw it too . Next to the Gizzie break-up the Imagination Denny break-up is one of my personal favorites . I just love those mutual or bittersweet break-ups moments .


Maybe . Also I have to bring up what you and I talked about on IM, and that's people sometimes hide their illnesses from the people they love. So if Izzie goes in for tests, then she might want to hide it from the others. While she looks happy and perky on the outside, in fact, on the inside she's in trouble. Which has been happening for the past three episodes lol.

It also emphasized that Izzie is finally coming out of her denial phase about something being wrong with her. Ever since 5.08 Izze stated she didn't want to think something is wrong with her, and that is completely understandable. It's just now she can't ignore things about herself and around her, however; it's not a huge step in the non-denial direction. It's a step towards it since I think it will be Alex, and the rest to help her through this.

So perhaps were were correct about our speculations last night hun . At least I was right about Alex being Izzie's pull towards reality (minus last week ).


A big WORD . Eric was just so darn sexy, vulerable, and funny all at once . I have to give a shout-out again to Eric Stoltz because he was once again amazing in this episode, and seeing William hit his head over and over again at the end of the episode was painful to watch.

Loved the acting by Katherine and Jeff in the break-up scene. They really pull you into those moments with their characters .

ITA . I love when Izzie is all uber-excited . She's so cute.

When I was re-watching Izzie's scenes again I noticed a similaritiy between a Dizzie scene in this episode and a Dizzie scene in 5.07 "Rise Up". They way they filmed these two shots the camera angles were almost similar. Granted they're not exactly alike, but they reminded me of the previous episode.
