I saw the golden globes and the dark knight director who accepted heath’s award kept going on and on about the amazing film history he had. Maybe I’m drawing a blank here, but what other “quality” films has he even been in besides dark knight? The only movie of his besides that that I ever think of is ten things I hate about you. Yeah, not a great film.

Other quality films he has been in I would include:

Brokeback Mountain
Monster's Ball
Candy

I cannot believe that it is going to be a year tomorrow January 22 since Heath passed away. sad.gif The Oscar nominations are being announced tomorrow..I hope we hear his name! He definitely deserves it for The Dark Knight IMO as he was outstanding as the joker!

ETA: YAY !!!!...Heath has been nominated for an Oscar for the Dark Knight!!! smile.gif

Brokeback Mountain was pretty overrated I would way rather watch Philadelphia.

This actually looks legitimately good too, similar to Philadelphia... it’s a true story about this kid whose mom rejects him for being gay and he ends up committing suicide. She realizes how it was all her fault and then became one of the most well known gay activists figures in the US: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vAfBXW1e6U

I think he did an amazing job in Brokeback Mountain, but I think most critics and others in the film industry mostly mention the "promise" he had in an amazing acting career that was ahead of him. I think he just got into some amazing roles and fans and film makers looked forward to working with him and seeing what other movies he would bring to life. I know I have always thought of him as an amazing actor. He was also in The Four Feathers and The Patriot.

Heath hadn't really been in too many "quality" movies yet but I think the point was that he was just beginning to break out as a respectable actor... I think The Dark Knight was the film that was going to really launch his career.

He was actually working on one other film at the time of his passing... the fate of it's release is still being debated...
