Like I said last week I only watched the first hour of the crossover, but not the second part since I use recaps and You Tube for it. Overall, the episode was okay, but it wasn't as stellar as the January episodes thus far.

I want to get the annoying things out of the way, so:

PrP Characters - They didn't do anything for me *shrugs*. I thought Sam was decent, but it felt like I was being forced feed this chemistry that it wasn't. The New England Fab 5 really didn't have that much chemistry when you compare them to our SGH Fab 5. They're scenes were just so awkward and felt force. The only scene I thought that flowed well was during the chapel scene *shrugs*.

Alex, Alex, and oh yea Alex sad.gif - The moment he started to criticize not only his students by calling them losers(granted cutting themselves was stupid but they ended up that way because residents like Alex did squat -- he wasn't mentally sick like Izzie half the season), but also Izzie's teaching method is when I knew this wasn't going to be a good episode for him. How can this guy be a good teacher if he is calling them losers sad.gif. Like it or not the successes and failures reflect on the teacher, and trying your best in acheiving success for them is all you can do. Alex trying nothing and criticizing Izzie's teaching is so BS. The thing is Alex isn't even trying. All he does is yell at them, mock them, and ugh. He drove me insane in that teaser scene. It seemed like he only helped the interns in this episode because he wanted to please Izzie.

Alas, Alex just got worse in the PrP hour. He told Addie he loved Izzie and etc, and come to know he knows Izzie isn't acting herself (he actually calls the person he loves a "crazy chick" sad.gif and not in a teasing way like George did last week) and he knows a train is coming to a wreck. So what does he want to do? HE WANTS TO RUN!!!! Just one of many notches on how his (flawed) ILY speech to Izzie means nothing. I'm sorry, but Denny nor George would never NEVER contemplate running away from Izzie especially at a time like this. There should be no questioning. Either you know or you don't.

It's was better when the writers wrote Alex in denial because the fact Alex knows he just looks more of a jerk no.gif. Alex ended up mocking her, making fun of her, made it all about himself, and later scolded her during the January episodes after Izze opened up to him. We thought perhaps he was in denial (granted I think a part of him was a bit and I'm being generous here) and clearly self-absorb (which he clearly is since he is contemplating running away for his own selfish means), but no he knew. HE KNEW. So his behavior throughout the past 2 months of episodes just makes him even more infuriating shrug.gif. Gawd, I hope he gets some guilt from all this because if Izzie stays on the show longer than expected, then I want her with someone I know that will not treat her like this. She so deserves better than him. Some peeps say he grown, but I don't see it...sorry I don't sad.gif. Like I said earlier in previous threads I really really really wanted Alex to step up to the plate so I could be proven wrong, but all he did was further disappoint me as a viewer. The writers had a lot of potential here on Alex's end of Izzie's storyline, and they blew it for this viewer. I really don't know if Alex's last quarter portion of Izzie's storyline can make up for it. Just going to have to wait and see.

Inconsistency Meredith Strikes Again - When she said "I don't know him" I automatically thought of the poor writing they did with Meredith when they revealed Derek's father was murdered. Just thought Meredith was poorly and predictable written.

Derek - Honestly, he was okay in this episode, but I had to mention the promo for next week. Derek needs his ass suspended, and I don't mean a slap on the wrist he normally gets. I don't care if Derek thinks Mark slept with Meredith (he could think he means her instead of Lexie) or Lexie he is so freakin' out of line. He is barking at his soon to be fiancee (RUN MEREDITH RUN) and fighting with Addie in the O.R., and beating the crap out of Mark sad.gif. Derek's unprofessionalism has been going overboard since the January episodes to the point he has officially lost it.

I hate how they have Derek treat Mark like he is beneath him. When, in fact, he is not. If anything Mark is one of the very few characters that has grown in this series. Mark did his dues despite Derek's hypocritical nature. Derek and Lexie don't even have a close relationship, and Lexie is a consenting adult. Plus Derek better not use the attending/intern line because Derek was shagging Meredith when she was one. I just have a feeling I will not like Derek at all in next week's episode.

*sighs* I just had to get that all out of my system because I rather leave my post on a positive note of the things I did enjoy grin.gif:

Izzie's Intern Game & Illness - I thought it would be cute, but I didn't think I would freakin' love it woohoo.gif. Izzie was just so adorable, and she just rocked in her teaching and encouraging everyone. Plus this is something that wasn't out of the blue either. Izzie has taught her interns, I believe more than any other resident within the Fab 5, since the season four premiere. She took so much time and care in making this game work from doing the fake bodies to the each stage of her game. It was so detailed except for the prize Izzie forgot about lol(remember the forgetful symptom I mentioned last week). The scene where Lexie, Ryan, and Steve were running to the finish line was so funny lmao.gif. It was total Intern Chariots of Fire lol. Plus it was added bonus of George helping his BFF Izzie grin.gif. That was a welcome treat from this fan. Plus I love when they use Katherine's comedic timing and with a touch of dramatic subtleness from her when Izzie takes notice of her lack of sight. Next week looks great because we get dramatic Katie :woo:. It's just even though Izzie was happy, but you can tell how scared she was in some short moments because her hand would shake or her face would show that she knows something is off with her body.

George's Screentime Increased - He had more interaction and scenes in this episode in comparison of the past several episodes eek.gif. I think he had more scenes than Meredith lol. I was overjoyed and surprised he was working with Izzie. It was like old times love.gif, and loved how he tried to help Sadie. I really loved George's plea to help Sadie, but she's just like Mer and Alex where she is too self-destructive to ask for help. When George yelled that she could hurt someone Sadie could have already did with Izzie's test results. Since the moment Sadie arrived she appeared to be incompetant, and now she could have hurt two people. Sadie could have seriously messed things up for Izzie and the woman in the clinic. Glad George tried, and his words at the end could seriously be a foreshadowing.

Owen's backstory - I knew of the ex-fiancee from the casting sides, but as usual despite knowing what is ahead I was looking forward to Kevin McKidd's acting. Man, was he awesome. His what-would-have-been his father-in-law was also on ER during season 1 or 2.

That's honestly I can remember at the moment, and the ABC and CTV promos were freakin' awesome for next week's episode. So far the crossover has been lackluster, but hopefully the promos weren't misleading because the last episode of the crossover looks like it could be one of the best nod.gif.

It hasn't been posted yet because it's the last Izzie's scene of this episode nod.gif. I love that one subtle shift of Izzie's eyes that tells us the the audience that Izzie knows she is not alright. Thanks for the link Luz thumbsup.gif. Well, add it to the Izzie footage post I'm making now nod.gif.

Now im just going to say 2 of my opinions...
1. God I'm so with ya now on the Alex matter, they so totally screwed Alex for me... its getting ridiculous how bad of a guy he can be :| ... sad.gif Hoping to see him feel all guilty!
2. Oh loved Katies acting *.*, soooo cute!... She is all passionate about teaching the interns! Mm... i also felt it was frustrating to see her not be able to see well, i mean, I was all happy seeing her at the beginning.. and then they did that.. and i was all ?!?!?! I have no idea what her disease is... but... oh God its awful, and now that she will have sth on her skin too... Also loved more Katie and Tr acting together... I wont complain about that grin.gif xD

Ok i think that was 3 points... oh well lol.gif

You know I have friend who tutors, she's pre-med, and after seeing Izzie's learning game she decided to use some of the learning tools Izzie used to help some of her classmates learn smile.gif.

i also felt it was frustrating to see her not be able to see well,

It was so sad to see sad.gif. Just look how far apart Izzie's hand is from the tape eek.gif.

IPB Image

Even though it was sad to see I thought they did a great job at showing how bad Izzie's depth perception (IDK if that's the right medical term) was.

ITA nod.gif. I loved Katherine's facial expressions in this one from her comedic to dramatic subtle looks throughout smile.gif. Her facial expressions talking to Meredith were some of my favorite lol. Izzie's so cute here hehe.

When I first saw the episode I thought it was the same shirt too until I did some checking of the outfit's cutting blush.gif. The collars appear to be different to my sister and I shrug.gif

At first I thought they were the same too because they looked a lot alike. I could be wrong myself, but looking at the collars again I'm thinking they're not shrug.gif.

I'm de-topping this thread to make way for the next episode thread smile.gif.
luzaleja
Hoho, yeah, even though it is frustrating, its good that they are showing us more of her disease sympthoms ( dude i HAVE NO IDEA how is the spelling lol.gif )
And yep... that one in particular (the facial expression) is VERY cute! *.*
TVR
Expressive as ever. Love the screen caps! Not seen the episode yet - a little behind as ever. Looking forward to seeing it shortly though.
