From the upcoming DVD

Oooh, thanks for that treat, Selkie! I guess we'll be getting a few more deleted scenes when we get our DVDs... (I'm counting the days!)

I wasn't sure I understood what Bella said to Edward as she oh-so-daintily shoved her finger in his mouth. I thought for a second she was checking for cavities, but, I guess not... .... Did she say "Do you want a taste?" or "Can I have a taste?"

Cat, so it's not just me, eh? I hope when we get that deleted scene on the DVD we can find out what she's saying using close captioning. ....It was just kind of weird the way she stuck her fingers in his mouth... not so sexy, more like a "let me dislodge that piece of steak you're chocking on" kind of move.

My guess is that she did say ... 'do you want a taste' ... I figured that the dental probe ( ) was to prick her finger on his fang.

Nosee. so Bella wasn't checking for cavities or worrisome pieces of wayward steak in Edward's mouth, but for Edward's fang, instead? Uh.... aren't our twi-vamps of the fangless variety? ....And wouldn't tempting Edward with an hors d'oeuvre of her blood be a bit on the dangerous side for Bella? I just think it's an odd scene. Was there a scene in the book where she did something like that? I don't remember. I remember the "Your number was up when you met me" exchange from the book... but not the "Do you want a taste?" And maybe it's too late at night or something, but Edward's "Yeah" answer to her "Do you want a taste" question struck me tonight as That's the most enthusiastic emotional verbal response I can remember hearing from Edward.

well thats just very strange...

biting her finger would've started off the process of turning her into a vampire, seeing as his saliva is venomous. its also not in the book unless i missed something major.

so_what, ITA. Besides, Edward just lays there with his mouth open and Bella roots around inside looking for something sharp to prick her finger on. Bella seems to do the most tasting of her blood, too - more than Edward. It's just such a strange part of the scene. ...And, "like I said," I don't remember that "wanna taste" line in the book either.

Hmmm.... speaking of saliva and venom: Saliva from a bite, bad? And can turn it you into a vamp. But sloppy kissing not so much? I just want to understand Meyer's vamp mythology....

yeah ... well, maybe that's why it's not in the movie.
