Indeed nod.gif. Any reaction is better than no reaction and avoidance nod.gif.

Here's the new ABC promo that aired tonight, and boy is it intense grin.gif.

bawl.gif @ Izzie collapsing. Izzie definitely looks weaker from the last time we saw her. The treatment and cancer is starting to take affect. Our speculation panned out about the bookend attacks woohoo.gif. Still lovin' how realistic they are trying to make Izzie look minus the neuro surgery scar lol. Love that we get to see Izzie's POV shot when she is collapsing. It's a camera POV angle I have always been a fan of. Izzie falling on the wedding dress is just...what's the word noidea.gif....so thematic....it's a word I can't think of right now, but I'm fond of that camera angle too. Even though it's so sad to see bawl.gif, but yet it's an amazingly shot.

A few crappy screencaps lol.....

loved the thingy with the camera POV too grin.gif
aaaa very exciting!! def better season than the last 2 smile.gif
At least Izzie's storylines are great smile.gif
amm.. though.. it is TV so its not perfect.. there are some very unproductive scenes xD
Love Izzie's interaction with Christina too, very cute, and well... interesting too smile.gif Shows another side to Christina smile.gif and Izzie just rocks grin.gif grin.gif
lol
thanks 4 the caps!!
and im still debating on that last scene blush.gif

The outside George and Alex scenes remind me of the on location photos, which I forgot to post doh.gif, I saw on MySpace a few weeks ago. The poster said a guy falls onto a car roof noidea.gif.

Here are some of the photos, with captions, that I believe are from George and Alex's medical case in this episode:

Definitely nod.gif. All the storylines, especially Izzie's, are on a far higher, intense scale. Having the storylines, finale, and 100th episode coming up the build-up is pretty solid. Far better build-up to the finale compared to the previous two seasons lol.

QUOTE
im still debating on that last scene

Yea, I can't place the last Izzie shot either noidea.gif. The "I'm fine" shot, as we talked about on IM, looks to be right after Izzie's fake-out to get Meredith out of the bathroom lol. The Izzie collapsing shot might be happening at the half-way point of the episode due to the fact it's still daylight. I can't figure out the last Izzie shot at all noidea.gif. Alas, it did make me go awww seeing Cristina so concerned over her love.gif nod.gif.
luzaleja
Yeah the built up has been great!
yeah i know... we will have to wait! sad.gif

Yeah i am liking that Christina!!! grin.gif

Just love the grandfatherly looks Chief is giving Izzie as she plans the wedding. I knew Meredith was going let Izzie plan the wedding to get Izzie's mind off her troubles. Izzie is so Jane a la 27d talking on the phone hehe.

Swender: Izzie Stevens is going to wish she were dead.

bawl.gif

Oh, this looks like a good episode nod.gif.

Swender definitely knows her stuff nod.gif. I can understand why Izzie is acting like nothing has changed. I can't blame her there, but after she collapses Izzie will have to realize she can't. Even her energy will be kaput sad.gif. Good juicy, compelling tv though nod.gif.

I really did like this episode. I thought it was a good start for the last quarter of the season nod.gif. The things I really enjoyed were:

Izzie a la 27 Dresses - That was funny as hell lol.gif. Izzie was so funny and yet cruel playing jokes on her friends, and completely milking her cancer to get her friends to do things. I get that humor because I done it lol, but after the last fake-out you just know Izzie will no longer be faking it. Plus being who Izzie is her behavior was covering up her inner fears. I loved Izzie's crying when Derek was trying to talk to her about what MerDer wanted for their wedding lol. Seeing Izzie vomit, wince in pain, walk so slowly because her energy was kaput, and watching her faint. Man, it was sad to see bawl.gif, but I was glad to hear why Izzie was so extreme in that episode. She wanted to be who she was before....before the cancer. It's such an overwhelming thing, but completely understandable. Loved how it went from comedical to dramatic.

I loved how tender and sweet Cristina was with her in their last two scenes together. I loved that once again Cristina was there for Izzie, and understood why she acted the way she did. Just went awww....when Cristina covered her with the blanket and wiped the sweat off Izzie's brow while she had her oxygen mask on (gawd it's hard to see Izzie this way bawl.gif). I thought Bride Izzie was foreshadowed in this episode.

I was pleased that they showed Izzie first chemo session smile.gif. To see what one does when they get their chemo. It was really neat how they did the camera work along with the reactions of Alex and Izzie with other fellow cancer patients. I really liked the camera work in this episode especially when Izzie fell down. It was mostly done from Izzie's POV, and it was a treat to see Nurse Tyler again who was treating Izzie. Notice Swender said Izzie can have an heart attack eek.gif.

Alex vs. George - Finally they have an argument that has been boiling since S3. Both throwing jabs at each other left and right from the patient (i.e. "if he leaves and hurts himself it's on you") to Izzie. Once again Alex doesn't listen to George about a medical situation, and does Alex messes up big time.

Their argument has to be one of my favorite scenes because it full on venting from both sides. They were just angry at each other, but their closure scenes was awesome. When Alex and George at Joe's it is a moment that screams can't the show end on the 5th season lol. Alex told George he kicked ass in general, and that he excels under pressure where he does not. That Izzie is really really sick, and he doesn't excel under pressure. So what does George do? He pushes his beer over to him to symbolize an olive branch. It's not really too trianglely as Ausiello implies, but it show how much these two boys love Izzie. What they do for her because its' clear Izzie loves them both in different ways. Izzie is the reason why they are even talking the way they do in Joe's bar IMO. They know how much Izzie is special to them.

Once again ABC mislead with their episode description. Alex didn't freezie. He was merely overwhelmed by the huge task Owen gave him is all, he simply didn't listen to George, and top that off his concern over Izzie. All in all it was completely in character, and since it was in character Alex had to act like an Alex. He lashes out of George saying that he basically tolerated George for Izzie, but that he was "done with" George and lost respect for him. Alex thy name is hypocrite. However, George pressed Alex's buttons after he pointed fingers at George for losing a suicidal patient who falls out of three story window onto a car eek.gif. Seeing George finally really fight back, something we haven't seen since S1-S2, was a treat to see watch because I've been dying for this scene to happen for two and a half seasons. George tells Alex he doesn't understand what Hunt nor Izzie sees him. In the end they tolerate each other for Izzie's sake. Something that has been speculated and talked about in many places. So it was nice to see to hear. Izzie is one of the reasons these two boys tolerate each other, and later on bond over drinks.

Father & Daughter Dying Patient - All throughout the episode the tell you the child will die. Even when it happens it kills you. Bailey did an awesome job with this case. She handled herself far better compared to the case with Jackson. The scene that gutted me was seeing the father lay down with his daughter, and talk to her as she had her last breaths. He didn't stop talking after she died, in fact, he kept on going sad.gif. That fact he kept on going just made it even harder bawl.gif.

Those were the three things that really shot out at me. Other small mentions:
- Sara is sexy when she speaks in Spainsh, and loved the Callie/Mark interaction. Plus it was nice to see them really take Callie's storyline on a more serious tone.
- Owen with Dr. Wyatt at the end.
- It was great seeing Papa Torres again because Hector is such a great actor, and damn he threw both George and Mark to the wall eek.gif lol.gif. Eric, TR, and Hector were great in this wall smackdown. Eric has the most funniest smile after Callie is able to calm her father down lol. Callie telling George to run was funny as hell. Great set-up for Mer/Chief's storyline in 5.21 as well.
- I hated hated TR's hair in this episode. What happened to it? It's like he got hit with a weed wacker lol.gif.

Includes George and Alex's last scene, and here are the Izzie snippnets from the Writer's Blog:
QUOTE
Izzie is dying. That really hit home for me after seeing her collapse. I remember discussing this story in the writers’ room and Shonda saying “Izzie collapses. This is the turning point. She gets really, really sick.” And I said “WHAT????? Izzie collapses? MY Izzie collapses??? This is bull*!@# Shonda!” Yeah, I said that. It was all in my head, but I said it. Seriously, it’s heartbreaking to see Izzie this way. When Izzie fake codes and makes Meredith try on ugly wedding dresses, we get the sense that Izzie’s going to be okay - that the chemo won’t affect her. And Izzie believes that too. She fights to maintain who she is throughout the day until her body betrays her. When Izzie vomits, this disease becomes real to her. But what we also see is the beginning of a true friendship between Cristina and Izzie. It took a lot for Izzie to admit that she’s sick to Cristina. That the cancer is winning. And Cristina is there for her. She’s there to wipe her brow and to help Mer with her stupid wedding dresses. And it’s for Izzie. Cristina is there for Izzie. And if anything comes out of this tragedy, it’s their friendship.

And George. When I think of hope, I think of him. I wanted George to find himself – his strength as a doctor. And he has. Who would have thought that George “007” O’Malley would be a kick ass trauma surgeon? Seeing George in action took me back to the elevator. You remember the elevator right? Intern year. George and Alex are stuck in the elevator with a patient and the patient needs emergency medical. George excels and Alex…well, Alex kind of chokes. So yeah, it’s the elevator moment again and George saves a life. Again. I love that this happened again years later. In the bar, when Alex acknowledges that George is great at trauma, it shows that Alex has grown, just like Meredith. Alex would have never admitted George was better at something years ago. Alex would also never admit to feeling fearful, especially to George. And Alex is absolutely terrified because Izzie’s sick. And he’s scared that she’s going to die. And he’s scared of what that might do to him. And we see yet again, the beginning of a friendship. One between George and Alex.

This episode was written by a newbie GA writer. Her first episode, and I thought she did a pretty good job at it nod.gif.

Here are a few Izzie snippnets from the review's I seen thus far....

From Zap2it:
QUOTE
Most of all I admired her determination to remain the person she was when she woke up that morning -- trying not to let the toxic dose of drugs she withstood change her from being capable to being just a patient.

From EW's Review:
QUOTE
Now this is the way to do bridal planning. I'm something of a wedding-plot connoisseur, having once planned (but not executed) my own nuptials — and by connoisseur, I actually mean ''person with a low tolerance for.'' Mix in a little cancer, though, and one very unfrilly bride, and things get interesting.
I was confused when I first saw Izzie reading Bride & Groom magazine (leave it to the post-feminists at Grey's to choose the one equal-opportunity wedding mag — yes, it does exist). Actually, I thought: Have I forgotten some key scene wherein Alex and Izzie decided to get married? It has been nearly a month since the last new episode, so it was possible. And quite frankly, I won't be surprised if they do tie the knot by season's end — I just didn't think that had already been determined onscreen. At any rate, I was right — it hadn't. Turned out Meredith had asked Izzie to help with wedding planning to distract from... hmm, what was it again? Oh, right, the fact that she has possibly terminal brain cancer. Well, Derek got that stuff out of her brain, but there's still a ways to go. Meredith wanted something simple, dress-wise, somewhere between ''naked'' and pretty-pretty princess bride; she wanted a low-key reception.

Izzie, of course — she of the ''prom'' dress worthy of a wedding the night Denny died — had other plans. She was pacing around her gown-crammed hospital room while barking on her Bluetooth to florists. When the Chief showed up to check on her, she happily chirped, ''Blood, pee, what can I get you?'' I've said it before and I'll say it again: LOVE Cancer Izzie.

And...then we were back to the hilarity of life-threatening illness as Izzie kept playing her dying state for pranks. As her heart monitor flatlined, I started contemplating whether those persistent rumors that she's leaving the show might have actually been good for the dramatic tension — we believe she might (nay, will) die. When, in fact, she might very well not. But it turned out that in this case, she was just pretending to be coding to get Cristina's attention — and ask her to get Meredith to come in and try on dresses. That sequence in itself played out suitably funny, ridiculous, and touching. Meredith whined that she'd rather just have a buffalo-wing reception. ''Caterers don't even do buffalo wings,'' Izzie scoffed. ''Don't you have a dress in your pile that doesn't make noise when it moves or stand up by itself?'' Meredith pleaded. (Anyone who's tried on wedding gowns knows: not likely.) ''You're getting married — it's a miracle!'' Izzie finally proclaimed before persuading Mer that maybe this ceremony should be a big deal. Once everyone left her room, of course, we saw — thanks to some upchucking, and later a real collapse on her floor — that Izzie was not as fun-lovingly surviving chemo as she seemed.

ABC put a great podcast by the episode's writer Sonay Washington and director Tony Phelan. They talk a quite a bit about Katherine's performance, how realistic she wanted Izzie to look, and some great behind the scene moments with the cast:
