I believe so.

I do not like Castiel. Misha's fine, Jimmy's okay but for me no *shakes head*

Also I think there's another 'Uriel' since Angel vs. Angel violence.
Vinity
Wow! Really good transformation.

I like Castiel PQ

Jimmy's family is so dead now. He's lost his faith. This god doesn't like that.

I don't like Sammy drinking the blood as a drug metaphor.
Pixie Queen
I figured something like that would happen. Jimmy, why didn't you listen? Agh!
Clarity
Wow, the Jimmy Castiel transformation was great.

I like Castiel just fine--Misha's a hoot.

Ack, Sam--you know Ruby's letting you twist in the wind on purpose, y'know. The better to get you in her clutches. sad.gif

lol.gif Anna--call ahead! And she can tell about Sam. Man, Dean's gonna be so mad when he finds out about what Sam's been doing...

And yikes, demon neighbor!! eek.gif

I don't like Sammy drinking the blood as a drug metaphor.

I see it as something else entirely, not even thinking about drugs wink.gif . I do like Anna though.

Also I get confused slightly, everytime I see something I think someone's talking to me and then I realize they aren't hide.gif lol.gif

OH lady why didn't you LISTEN?!!

There aren't many references in this one. Claire's got mojo. Okay that's...a bit gross, but understandable.

Poor Jimmy sad.gif

*shakes fist in mock outrage*
Vinity

bawl.gif my breath is knocked out. !!!

Oh Sammy

Brendan is hanging on the bones thread.
Clarity

SAMMMMM!! (AHBL Dean yell)

That scene was so awesome and totally freaked me out. I was pounding my chair and scared my cat. lmao.gif

Dean totally thought Sam was after him and Claire. sad.gif

Pixie Queen
Just when I was getting to the point of liking Castiel *sigh* Argh, back to point 0 with me dude, but I cried over Jimmy. *hides*
Vinity

Gulp!
Pixie Queen
OH LET HIM OUT DARN IT *bangs on chair and wails*

But...hey JIM! (Clarity! Questions! *glee* )

lol.gif And then there's an Edge commercial lmao.gif
Clarity
Aww, poor Jimmy. sad.gif The daughter was excellent as Castiel.

And now Castiel's learned his lesson. Supposedly. wink.gif

And Sam? You fell for the oldest trick in the book--Dean had that all planned with Bobby. sad.gif

Sigh. Yup, they're headed for a total brother break up. bawl.gif And demon blood and all, I just want to hug Sam--poor thing, so trusting of Dean. bawl.gif

The preview!!! Eeeeeeek!! shock.gif uhoh.gif eek.gif

Wow this thread was busy last night. Hi Vin, Clarity and PQ wave.gif. This eppy totally rocked and what a set up for the next one.

Misha was amazing last night (did I hear he is becoming a reqular next season...please say this is true!!!) and it was nice to see him spread his emotional wings in this episode. It actually makes you appreciate his Cas performance more when you think about how 'controlled' he has to be all the time as that character.

It was interesting to see how Cas choice Jim as his 'meat suit' and how he spoke to him before taking over his body.

Sam and Dean were great too and I love how they have somewhat switch the characters around this season. If this was S1 it would have been Dean who wanted to keep Jim with them and Sam who would have wanted to buy him a bus ticket back to his family. I mean they have taken their time unwinding these changes and made it so very believable because of what both brothers have seen and experienced. I hate when a character does a 180 from one episode to another.

Ok I may be in the minority but I like the parallel of the demon blood being like a drug and seeing Sam experiencing withdrawals and that he needed a fix so bad he drank from another demon since Ruby wasn't around and he didn't even care if Dean saw him do this.

I'm not sure what people don't like...is it that Sam is being shown as a junkie in a way or is it that people don't believe that the blood should be compared to drugs? Is it because people don't think that drinking the blood would become addictive like a drug would?

I guess I can see this because a drug is something that gets into your bloodstream and when a drug screen is run it can be detected in an a person's blood. We know after last week that whatever is in Ruby's (demon) blood is leaving a trace in Sam's bloodstream since Michelle Pfeiffer's little sister said so when she said his blood tasted different.

Oh I do have one complaint. Why the hell wouldn't Sam or Dean throw a little holy water onto both the wife and the daughter after they got out of the house. The female demon expelled herself from the neighbor's body and they both know that demons 'jump' from one body to the next available body. The second somebody asked where the wife was and you hear her off camera that she was there you knew the demon went into her. Come on give our boys more credit writers.

I said it on "On the Head of a Pin" thread, and I'll say it again: I can't shake the feeling that Anna is working with the bad guys.

If Castiel was called back, why the violence? Now, if he was pulled back in order to rescue him...
Vinity
Sadly, I think both the Angels AND the Demons are dicks. Two sides of the same coin. Old testiment wrath-of-God stuff wasn't terribly kind to humans. I think God sees us as a art work in progress and has no qualms in erasing a few million people. I mean, he isn't human, neither are the Angels OR Demons. I don't think Cass has really been changed. I'm guessing he's gone undercover. I think he's on the Human side.

I don't want this season to end but on the flip side I dread the next eps. I know my guts will be ripped totally out. This is such a great show!! Hurt me please!! lmao.gif

Based on the title, I thought we were going to see the "Supernatural" version of the Rapture as described by evangelical Christians. After all, it is a fairly well-known aspect of many interpretations of the Book of Revelation. With Lilith breaking seal after seal and bringing the world closer to apocalypse, why not?

Instead, this was a story about Sam's growing addiction to demon blood and the consequences of being host to an angel. Both elements were surprising in different ways, but Jimmy's story was clearly the most unexpected. Misha Collins fans had to love this episode, because the actor was finally able to show some range, and he was on-screen more than the Brothers Winchester.

It was fascinating to contemplate that a vessel so willing would end up regretting the choice. There are a couple of ways to look at it, and I suspect it will have much to do with the mindset of the person making the interpretation. Those looking for the silver lining will recognize that the moral of the story is: be careful what you wish for. Uninformed choices can have terrible consequences. Jimmy couldn't have known what hosting Castiel would entail, and one can see how the disconnect between expectation and reality would lead to a crisis of faith.

Of course, the more negative interpretation would be that the writers are trying to depict angels as uncaring and even sinister, thus suggesting that Jimmy's conclusion that his faith was based on a lie is the intended message. I think that would be a short-sighted and self-serving interpretation. In essence, Jimmy volunteered to be a soldier in a war he didn't understand, based on trust and faith in the rightness of that war alone, and the reality of the situation tested his faith. Given that the loyal angels have been shown as willing to kill human beings to get the job done, that's not a surprising reaction.

Sam is much in the same boat as Jimmy, though he doesn't have the excuse of stepping into his situation without a clue. He just didn't think things through properly, and Ruby has been manipulating him for quite some time. If there's an amusing side to this, it's how obvious Ruby was from the moment she arrived on the scene. She told Sam that her goal was to back him as the Antichrist Superstar and convince him to assume his role, and that's precisely what she's been doing.

Yet, just like Jimmy, Sam went into the situation with all the best intentions (gain the power, avoid the temptation), and he got in way over his head. Dean and Bobby did exactly what one would expect them to do: contain Sam until they can find a way to bring him back from the abyss. Of course, something is going to go wrong, because it always does, and the apocalypse hasn't been canceled yet. Which mean, for "Supernatural" fans, that it's time to prepare for another jaw-dropping season finale!

lol.gif Yeah, the moment we heard the wife's voice off camera, I knew she was possessed by the demon but I guess the guys were too busy/ distressed with the whole situation that it didn't occur to them... after all they were not sitting comfortably on a couch (or actually snuggling up in bed) like I did. wink.gif So I forgive them the slip.
