We're Over Thirty and Obsessed! Just like the title says!

smile.gif Everyone is welcome to post on the OTOs, BUT keep in mind this is a thread for Adults!
How do you know if this is the thread for you?
- Are the kids finally in bed or at practice somewhere and you need a moment with other Roswell Adults?
- Did your kids leave the nest and you no longer have to fight for the computer?
- You have no kids and enjoy posting with other Adult Roswell fans?
- Are you a mature 'under 30'?
Then this is the thread for you smile.gif

~ Poem by John aka Noseedough ~

Friendships are the best ships!
Our fun tips are the best quips,
and our pics...they rule the board
friendships are the best
we're definitely obsessed...
sometimes we may be hazy,
but we never do get stressed.
Some jump right in, don't be afraid
say what's on your mind
never fear...we all have strayed,
but fall right back in line.
We love you when you're different,
we love you when you're not,
we are the OTO's my friend,
the best that you have got!

Thanks for the cool.gif new thread, Vin.

Thanks guys wave.gif

Richard~ hug.gif I hate to say anything but for us it's been better than usual.

Blue Van may be biting the dust bawl.gif front end might be gone. It is 17 years old with over 230K but still sad.gif we've had Blue Van since Michael was a baby. sad sad.gif

Plus, I don't want to drive the truck all the time. It's hard to park and I expect it's not the best for the environment.
Berengaria
Maybe you could get in on that "Cash for Clunkers" deal, Vin. Does Old Blue still drive?
LTL
Thanks, Vin!

Sorry about the trusty old van. I know how you feel -- my 16-year-old Sentra is dying. I remember paying extra to get air bags because my oldest would be driving in about 3 years -- he's now almost 30. lol.gif

I'm not supposed to be here by the way.
I'm supposed to be on a plane to Sweden.
Our connecting flight to Philly was X'd and they only alternative booking they could give us would land us in Stockholm on Saturday, and we were going to leave on Sunday, so we CX'd the whole thing -- will try again in the spring maybe.
No Arctic Circle. sad.gif
No Maxi. sad.gif

Instead we're leaving in an hour for Seattle. smile.gif
NanaJ: I hope you aren't leaving for Orcas Island yet. I'll give you a call once we land this afternoon and see if we can work out a time for getting together. smile.gif

Groundhog: Could you PM me Tum's email? I had it once, but it's buried in some folder. We're going to go up to Vancouver for a couple of days, so I hope to connect with her too.

All that careful planning for Sweden, and now I'm going off with practically no plans in the other direction. spineyes.gif

wave.gif

Vinity great title! Very appropriate smile.gif

LTL too bad your trip to Sweden didn't worked out sad.gif but unarranged events usually turn out to be the best for me. So hopefully, this other trip of yours will be just as good! Have a great time! smile.gif
Lori R
wave.gif Vin, Berengaria, Groundhog, LTL, ~Ilo~

LTL ITA w/ ~Ilo~ about maybe the trip. Something better may come of this either now or later when you reschedule. It doesn't help with the disappointment now though I know. All of that planning and excitement for nothing. I'll say a prayer that you have a great 'closer' trip and that in the Spring you have an even better trip to Sweden than you had imagined hug.gif

Vinity bummer on the van going on its last legs. I just pray my car holds out. I've had so much work done to mine, but I can't afford payments on a new one.

Groundhog I wish I could share all of the rain we have had here the past few weeks. It rained 3 times in the last 8 hours. Our ground is now saturated so I'm worried about taking on water in my house if it continues to rain like this. If it isn't one extreme it is the other rolleyes.gif Praying your end of the state gets a good rain fall soon.

Off to check my drains, and head to the grocery store while I can.

Poor Watcher is having to drive in all of this rain sad.gif

wave.gif Lori and VG!

Aww! LT bawl.gif that is horrible. Airlines really suck these days and don't seem to care sad.gif I hope our Vieques plane doesn't screw up {we're booking from DC BTW, dinner perhaps?? Have fun on the other side. Fingers crossed you catch up with Nana and Tum.

Thanks for sympathy on Blue Van. bawl.gif Mechanic is gonna look again to see how much it will cost to fix. We'll pay more than the Van is worth cause we like it and it's my around town car, we haven't taken it for out of town trips in years. And it's a TARDIS grin.gif I really don't want to drive the truck all the time.

Speaking of TARDIS cars, or not, we did manage to look at the Lexus Hybrid. Damn! That is the worst designed space I've ever seen mad.gif not to mention it's close to twice $$ what other cars in the class are costing, granted they aren't hybrids. What is with that? I'd think that baby crossover/SUV would be prime for hybrid. Why only the one? Toyota Highlander is hybrid and close to size but DV thinks it's too big for everyday sad.gif I honestly think it's smaller dimensions than his current car but his current car has a better turning radius. I think we'll end up with a Santa Fe and hopefully DV will trade it in as soon as a good Hybrid in that class opens up. The problem with DV getting a car is he drives them for at least a decade or over 200K. I'm not sure the Santa Fe will hold up for that. It seems sturdy enough but.....
HeavyMetalQueen
wave.gif Thanks for the new thread Vinity. smile.gif

Sorry to hear about your truck, hopefully the mechanic can fix it & it will run as good as new. smile.gif

Di m- Sorry to hear about your boss being a complete A$$ I am so thankful I'm not working for any company anymore, I do miss the $ but I manage ( sort of) with the disability cheques & housecleanign jobs I have.

I hated my last boss, I told her off for being just that( an A$$) & so she cut my hours ,just like she did the other people, when they fighted with her. & to top it off, I wasn;t too happy to find a manager was like 10 years younger then me & was my boss. Funny we were friends before she worked there, just "people" ( her) changed. always do with boss's eh.

Plus working in the resturant bussiness is such a bad move, I've told all my nephews & neice to never work in one, & if they did, don't stay more than a year at it, less if possible. spineyes.gif

Maxi- Thanks so much for the info on Supernatural, I'm now watching season 5 in the rre-runs for the summer, so I'm sorta catching up,

Like I thought "Ruby" was a little girl, now she's a 20 something. werid guess, here.( was that Ruby was the "soul" of the little girl, & then soul went outa the little girl & into an adult.) ???

Was the "J's" both at the panel? What did they say at the Q&A?

So for the smallville panel, Tom was the only one there? that guy form my sopa aopera( is now that cross bow charecter on this show, ) was he there?

Is "Lex" really off the show for good??

sorry for too many questions blush.gif

LTL- Sorry about your plans for your Sweden Trip. My sister inlaw has been there a few times, & lived there for a year, so she said it's really nice over there, maybe next year you can get over there.

But have a good time in Vancouver, careful about the fires, I hope your not going to be near them.

I would of loved to travel this year, but seems I can't get to go much places anymore, that will take me outa the country, mmaybe some year I'll get lucky. smile.gif

Vicki, so you thinking of moving back to Ca or SD? Gosh your lucky to be living in a cool city now, but those choices are also great. smile.gif A lot better then where I'm living...

We have had so much rain this past few months, I'm getting tired ot it really. since I havent gone out tot he lakes & had a swim.

Tek- I'm so happy you had a good time at CC, can you get passes to go every year, or is it just selling tickets every year type deals?

Lori- Awesome time you had with Watcher, & so happy to hear your doing better. You going to see any movies soon?

The orphan was so awesome, what a great "twist" at the end.

Okay still frozen up form the dentist, so I'll go now, pack my things up, maybe read after this, as I;m still upset over this ordeal.

did I tell everyone what is going on this Sat?

Well all week I've been in a mess over this, it's small but it bothered me alot.

So I got a new mattress & box spring, comming on Sat, & then my friend is comming & picking up my old bedroom suite, as I don't have any more "wall space" to put the mattress & box spring in the spare room here.

So I am going to be sleeping on a boxspring, /matress for ??? how long. I can't seem to decide on what to buy for a new bedrrom suite, so sad as I know I hate my little bed I've been sleeping on, for the last 35 years, but for some reason it bothered me. so I'ved been up all nights worried as to were to put all my stuiff off my shelves, & the thought of "living like a student" in my own condo, makes me feel crappy, but I have boxes to still pack stuff into, ect.

I know I should of bought the set after my bedroom suite, but for $315.00 plus free delivery & set up for a double mattress & box spring, it was a awesome deal, that couldn't be put off. just I did this backwards eh? Mom has shown me a set in the sears catalogue to get, but I love the wood colour, but not the "style" I'm so picky eh spineyes.gif

okay gonna go get this done, be back later okay.

wave.gif.

The whole cast of Smallville was at the panel. See pictures below. I feel so lucky to have been there. It was Comic-Con history. Tom Welling NEVER makes appearances. This season looks amazing too! The producers say Lex is not dead but didn't go into details. I don't think Michael Rosenbaum will be back though.

Are you referring to Callum Blue? He was there and is going to be a great Zod!

We are looking at getting a vacation home in So Cal at some point. We lived in SD for years and truly miss living in Cali.

Yeah, if it's not fixable we'll do that. It still drives and has been insured so it qualifies.

This is too cool Bees in a honey jar Thanks to Neil Gaiman. He does love his bees.

HMQ~ Ruby and Lilith were both demons. They possessed whatever human they wanted. That's the whole black smoke from the mouth coming out. Lilith tended to like being a child "meat suit" I don't ever recall Ruby being a child?

Berry, did I miss seeing James at Comic Con? I didn’t know that he was there. sad.gif

Miscellaneous CC comments about the first day at Comic Con:

Yes, I confess, as I posted earlier, I camped out overnight to get into the twilight panel. But, I wasn’t alone; I had several thousand of my “friends” to keep me company. It got kind of iffy around 2 am when the fog came in and I just had a beach chair to keep me warm. (BTW, it doesn’t work too well as a heater…).

LT, staying up all night wasn’t such fun especially in the wee hours when many people were sleeping and I wasn’t. I seriously questioned my sanity for doing it, but once we got into the hall for the Twilight panel, it was worth it. grin.gif

We had to sit through a series of 3D presentations by Disney before Twilight/New Moon, but they were pretty interesting. The best Disney offering IMO was Tim Burton showing a wee bit of his 3D film, “Alice in Wonderland.” It looks good (no surprise there). And of course, the highlight was the surprise drop in by Johnny thud.gif Depp. He said about 2 words – “Tim Burton” but that was better than not seeing him at all. The audience went wild when he showed up.

Robert Zemekis showed bits of his 3D movie, a remake of “A Christmas Carol.” None of us was too bowled over by what we saw. It’s a motion capture animated film starring Jim Carrey who plays several roles in the movie.

We also saw about 25 minutes of James Cameron’s new movie, “Avatar.” It looks wonderful, but I’m not sure if the plot will wow people. I need to see more to decide. It was great seeing Cameron who’s been away from films for several years.

“Twilight” Ahhhh, the panel was wonderful. Kristen Stewart looked so uncomfortable that I think she would have been happy to dig herself a hole and climb into it. She is not a public person. Rob Pattinson wasn’t that comfortable in front of the crowd of 6,500, but he was much improved from his last appearance at Comic Con. …It did appear to be a duel between Rob and Kristen to see who could run their hand through their hair the most… Taylor Lautner was impressive. He handled himself so well and truly was at ease in front of his adoring fans. I swear that kid is more like a 35 year old than the 17 year old he is. He was great answering questions. Ashley Greene did fine in the Q&A. The director, Chris Weitz, was terrific and you could see that all the actors really liked him. He seems like a really sweet guy. The 2 scenes they showed (which are all over the internet) had fans drool.gif and woohoo.gif Great choices!

Remember our many posts about Sci Fi/Sy Fy? Ironically, I ended up sitting in front of the guy who sold that name to the station! He had used Sy Fy as the name of his blog for several years. Someone approached him to buy the name and he sold it for $250,000. Only later did he find out that the purchaser was the former Sci Fi channel. He said he would have held out for a lot more money if he had known that.

I’ll post more later and I try to get some pictures up tomorrow. HMQ and everyone else, f you are eager to see some of the panels for yourselves, try going to YouTube or Googling Comic Con 2009 + panels (and you can insert the name of your favorite show, too). There’s a lot of stuff posted about CC.

HMQ, anyone can buy tickets for Comic Con. You can buy it on their web site ,www.comic-con.org. The trick is to buy them before they sell out. The good news is that you can buy them early and you can cancel and get your money back if you decide not to go. (Just be sure to cancel before the deadline to not lose any money). Comic Con is July 22-25 next year. It’s always in San Diego, California. I buy tickets every year. …Congrats on getting a new mattress.

Vin, True Blood just keeps getting better and better. ITA, I love Lafayette, too. And I was also sad about Daphne betraying Sam. I agree; I think Jason will end up being Sookie’s savior. Michelle Forbes must be having a ball with her role. There are only 12 episodes in Season 2 bawl.gif and the show ends in mid September. bawl.gif

Vin, sadly, I didn’t hook up with Maxi at Comic Con though I found out from reading her posts that we were at some of the same panels – like 24. sad.gif O Well. Maybe she had so much fun at Comic Con that she’ll go next year and we can hook up then. I tried to make it to Neil Gaiman’s panel, but the halls were so full and the lines to get in them so long, I was afraid to leave the hall I’d camped out in to catch his panel which was in another room. ….Sorry about the bad news about the funding for Michael’s classes. …I’m afraid you’re right about SS. They is no way that the baby boomlet’s contributions will cover the cost of the SS .payments for the all-too-many Baby Boomers. Plus, government types keep trying to siphon off the money from SS so that there will be even less than there should be.

LT, say “hi” to Softie for me and encourage him to get his pixels over here for a post or two, please. … eek.gif on the mass firing of IT people at your job. That’s awful. …About the CC handicap thing. I was in a car accident last year and injured my back which still is a problem. My doc gave me a temporary handicapped placard which I showed to the peeps at Comic Con. They put a stamp on my badge which gave me some extra privileges and made it easier on my back. I still managed to mess it up more anyway while I was there. …Sorry your plans to go to Sweden got cancelled. Have fun in Seattle with Nana.

Spook, I have a feeling the reason that LT's IT co-workers weren’t given any notice is that TPTB were worried that with their knowledge and computer savvy the IT types might do something to mess up the ‘puters, the server or the network. Paranoid thinking IMO….

Spook, good luck on finding the additional funding you need. I hope there is a monetary windfall in your future. ..And what’s up with mothers/midwives hoarding the umbilical cords of the newborns? Is someone getting to them before you can?

Tuesday night’s RVP[b] was great, but the ep, "White Room," had me bawl.gif

QUOTE(Groundhog)

In the white room with black curtains near the station.

Oooh, Vicki, that would be so cool if you moved here. Think of the trouble we could get into eyebrows.gif Hehehehe. …I’ll do some research about the Paley fall preview.

Vin, the “cash for clunkers” deal sounds great. If you do have to replace your blue van, I hope you qualify for the CFC. Good luck on your car hunting. It’s one of my least favorite things to do ever. Feh on car shopping.

Di, sorry your boss is such a pain in the A$$. hug.gif

James wasn't at Comic Con, Tek. I posted a notice that showed that the Marvel Hero's Squad (it's a cartoon series about to air) was bragging about the great voice talent they had and they made it sound as if there panel might include James (who is voicing Mr. Fantastic) ...his fans hadn't heard anything about it and doubted it. We now know that some of the other voice talent was there...but not James.

I might look like NanaJ/b], but I'm [b]LTL in disguise. grin.gif NanaJ brought the welcome wagon to our hotel room (Bailey's Creme figured largely in this), and brought her computer with her. But we found out our hotel charges outrageously for Internet access, so we hit the local Starbucks.

It's been wonderful catching up -- and she's going to made me an Adam Lambert convert yet!!

I'm turning the controls over to her now.

What a greeeeaaat surprise for me to see LTL and meet her husband this trip!!!! We will have dinner tomorrow night before they take off to....not completely decided yet. But we wanted to give our OTOs a shout out!

Maxi et al - thanks for the details on the Torchwood panel. I haven't watched the YouTube clip yet - it's next on my list. I can imagine that JB did probably try to distract from that man that shall not be named though. If he was anything like the commentaries he does on the DVDs, he's like a one-track "I love me and don't care about the fans" record. I no longer listen to any commentaries he does lol.gif He irritates me! But, until the last Torchwood, I had thought he was doing OK there. Why would he want Jack to suffer? Jack has a history of having suffered - a lot - in his lifetime! He doesn't need more...

I think the fact that they defend by saying it's down to the writers to decide does say that they realise they upset a large number of fans, and are just digging their feet in, but also trying to subtley smooth the waters. After all, without fans there are few viewers, and without viewers, there is no renewal.... It doesn't pay to totally ignore the fanbase's opinion. They might not care over all, but they have to care about smoothing ruffled feathers. Their biggest mistake though, I think, is forgetting that sci fi fans are both very intelligent (in general) and very rabid. They care more than most fans do...

QUOTE(Berengaria @ Jul 28 2009, 10:05 AM) *

Torchwood may be good, but it is not the only game in town...and there is a man who does not value loyalty or fans either. So he deserves neither.

I'll stick with Torchwood, but not because of that man. That man has lost my respect for him. I think I'll avoid anything he does in future, that isn't Torchwood.

LT - Sorry your trip to Sweden was cancelled, but it sounds like Plan B is working out well smile.gif

Vin - over here, it seems to be the kids that aren't academically gifted that get forgotten. They cost money to support, so you have to practically draw blood and hack off a limb to get the support they need frown.gif

Can I just say, I want more Dresdan NOW! I've only got half of Turncoat to read and then I'll be devoid of Dresdan and I'm not sure I'll cope! lol.gif

Pip and I went to York again yesterday smile.gif We love going there smile.gif We managed to avoid our favourite haunt - the Castle museum - and decided to visit lots of little museums and houses instead that we've never visited before. And I now know why... we couldn't find one of them - despite a map! lol.gif After hours of trudging (and finding another house we didn't know existed, but was great to visit) we finally found what we had been seeking. We'd literally walked past it 3 times! lol.gif

We're going back in a few weeks to walk the walls and visit the Castle museum. Pip has decided it's not a trip to York if we don't go to that museum! lol.gif

Just passing through - I've been lurking rather than posting lately.

I don't watch many of the shows you talk about nor know who most of the celebs at comic con are no.gif But I must be odd cause I really liked Torchwood Children of Earth nod.gif I didn't mind what the characters did cause usually I'm not really a fan, but this mini-series was excellent nod.gif I enjoyed the cynicism about goverments and the fact that it left issues un-resolved. I just wish they had killed off Gwen as well as she is the only character I don't like. Hopefully Torchwood will return with a completely new cast next time wink.gif

But then as I have said before I'm not really a sci-fi fan - just Roswell and Dr Who grin.gif

I'm currently really enjoying a BBC show called Desperate Romantics about the pre-Raphelites. It is another show that I know on one level is really bad (very trite with actors using contemporary dialogue in a costume drama) but on another level it's really enjoyable and stars Aiden Turner (the British actor not the American one) who was in Being Human! worship.gif

LTL hope you holiday is great despite the last minute changes.

spook I love York - and that museum - it's ages since I've been there though.

wave.gif to everyone else on holiday - enjoy youselves.

I'm off to visit my parents in Scotland tomorrow. Hoping for some good weather and not the constant rain we've been having lately. cool.gif
LTL
Hey, OTOs --

Plan B is indeed working out well. I'm going to see Tum tomorrow!! for the first time in person!

Spook: You've got me hungry to go bacl to York again.

More later!

Hey Janetq grin.gif If you are interested I can prolly have to set up with True Blood or anything else we chat about.

LT~ Glad it worked. DV was horrified you had to cancel the other vacation. Give Tummy a hug for me and tell her to stop in and see us and Behrfanny also if they are still in touch. At least now we're all past the Behr/Fehr/candy/dreamer days {and into the Twilight/or not}

New kid working barn stuff was pretty good. He did a good job on the new stuff and redid the whole days work of last guy. NOT quite as fast as I'd be but I think he'll get faster once he's used to my tools and where they all are. IN checking last guy was even STUPIDer than I had even guessed.
Groundhog
LTL glad your west coast visit is working well. Give Tum a big hug. Send me a PM about how she is getting along. grin.gif

Vin the cash for clunkers is about to run out of cash already, unless they extend it. You can check online somewhere to see if your car/truck qualifies. You might need to move quickly.

Well, I mailed back my Nielsen surveys today. I got selected about nine or ten years too late. I did put down in the comments that I watched a couple of episodes of Roswell off DVD with several of my friends, in a reference to the Roswell Viewing Party on Tuesdays. More of y'all need to join in. What a shame there isn't much good on TV these days, especially during the summer rerun season. For you True Blood fans, I listed that. I don't really care about the story but usually record it and playback at 2x or 3x fast forward unless there is some T and A. lol.gif Which there usually is.

I ended up deleting the Torchwood miniseries without watching after reading all of the comments here and elsewhere. I just couldn't get excited about watching it. I only watched two or three episodes of this last season before deleating the whole folder. I wanted Sci Fi, not slash. I'm done with that show. At least Doctor Who will be back.

Second day with a little rain, and temps not so high. But the humidity is really up there now so it's almost a sauna. lol.gif _O_WELL.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

WOW on the cash for clunkers being on, then off and now on. I hope we can decide in time to use the Blue Van. It will be sadder to take it to the dump. We drove DVs first car to the bad place and he cried.

I think the CC place cards do have names on both sides. I think Joss nad Eliza were just being funny.

yawn.gif A quickie check-in from Stockholm. The bad weather that stopped LTL from going to Sweden caught us too, and normally I would have been home Thursday evening. Hey OTOs. wave.gif

Maxi :fingercrossedsmilie: you get home safely now. Poor dear, rest.

Lori~ I'll take some of the rain. Add prayers you don't get squishier. We've had some but we're still crunchy grass. Must have been prefect growing weather up upstate NY, the Timothy hay is coming glorious. Best I've seen in years.

We've had a big day today. Got up at daybust headed to Raleigh, were the first customers at the Good Feet store. We all have hurty feet but DV and Michael are horribly flatfooted. We've done Orthotics for them { I refused those horrible hard custom insoles } Honestly GF did more assessment than the Foot Doc did. The insoles were a little more than the Foot Docs horrors { I think cause insurance covers some $$} around $300 each but they are lifetime guaranteed. If they break or start giving trouble they'll redo us. Michael will get his replaced for growth for $50. Then Michael and DV got shoes that were $200 each but I think it will help Dv's legs. It's worth the price if we hurt less. Problem is we WAY over used the new stuff today so we'll all be sore tomorrow.

Then we ate, then we looked at more new cars. Turns out the only car that will qualify we're looking at is the Highlander and DV is sure that is too big. Blue Van qualifies if someone is getting a tinier more fuel efficient car. I wish someone could use it, it will break our families heart to drive it to the junk yard.

Then Harry Potter in IMAX. Very cool 3D stuff. Much more detailed and intense than last movie but not as much of it. Only 3D for the first bit of the movie. As for as the movie itself, special effects were amazing but storyline was only very so-so. And I hated the last book so I'm not even sure we'll see the next one.

B congrats on the new car. grin.gif

I'm missed SO to people sad.gif Sorry, horribly tired. Heading to bed at 10:30 jawdrop.gif

People are actually saying that? Wooha. Stupidity on their part in my opinion - you cannot judge a particular area based on impressions from the airport in my not so humble opinion. NJ is actually another one of the places I 'really' want to visit properly one day, partly because I love the music from there (Jovi and Bruce in particular, and I would love to go to a show with one of them there in their home state one day), partly because a good friend of mine lives there, and partly just because I want to see the state itself too. Let's just hope I'll be able to afford it sometime.

Sorry you have to go back to work. sad.gif

Chuck is great.

So is Queen. hearthrob.gif One of my favourite bands of all time. And I am still sad.gif I never got to see them live. Sorry Paul Rodgers, as much as I love your voice - and I really do - I cannot stand listening to anyone except Freddie singing Queen songs. The only exception would possibly be the We Will Rock You musical in London, I have it from people I trust musically that it is an awesome musical so I would love to see it one day.

I just finished watching Torchwood: Children of Earth. I had been spoiled that Ianto gets killed. After they killed off Tosh – a fave of mine – and Owen, I wasn’t surprised that Ianto died. Is Gwen far behind??? Is RTD looking to hire a whole new cast? I did hate that Captain Jack sacrifices his grandson….. Has there been any word of a new season of Torchwood? I depend on the OTOs and Vin in particular, to keep me updated on Torchwood news.

Text Message Warning. I got 3 text messages that were “phising” texts. Two were from the same “company” notifying me that my “card was deactivated.” The text gave me a phone number to call to “activate” my card. I called my cell phone carrier (Verizon) instead and they were most helpful. The text never specified what kind of card was deactivated. The other fraudulent text message was a graphic from Harbor Finance Company. The title of the text message was “Alert.” I reported that one, too. Both companies do exist; I check the web for their home pages and both home pages had warnings about people hijacking their companies to phish for info.

Who’s watching the BBC’s Being Human? I caught the first 2 eps. The show hasn’t bowled me over, but I do like George, the werewolf. I think the show has done right by his character so far.

rotfl.gif Well, there sure is a lot of T&A on TB… It adds to the “spice” of the show. There does seem to be a lot less this season, though, since Jason has literally “found religion.”

Ken, thanks for upping the literary quotient on the OTO board with a little Kerouac.

Vin, Berry & Nosee, I noticed that on many panels, some of the panelists at CC playfully switched their name cards just to be silly. I guess they figured that the fans knew who they were by now.

LT, how cool that you got to see Tum. I was glad to read that she’s looks so great.

Maxi, sorry you had such a rough time getting home.

LTL - So you saw Tum! She has a wonderful personality. I enjoyed meeting her and am sure you did, too. How was the border crossing? Hope you are now enoying Victoria, BC. If you can, try for a tour of Buchart Gardens. Check out an early evening visit. I believe I went once at this time of year and there was a musical free performance and you saw the gardens in the light and at the end of the performance you saw it lit for night viewing. Beautiful!

Hurray for internet cafes!

We are still running 90 degree temps. Next week we will be on the water and the forecast is showers. Phooey. Seafair hydroplane races and Blue Angels today. Everyone was delighted as it was a perfect (except a bit hot) day for this event on Lake Washington.

Anyone watching Merlin? I have enjoyed the few episodes I have caught.
