Hmmmm I don't think I realized Majandra and Samantha had actually recorded songs in 1995 that Samantha's father Maurice had produced and played. Seriously I would love to hear these songs unfortunately I guess they have never been released and won't be sad.gif.

These are the first known recordings by Maurice’s daughter Samantha, born in 1980. She and friends had started singing at charity events as the China Dolls in 1992. Now at age 15, Samantha made her first serious recordings with her friend Majandra Delfino (later known as an actress on the television series Roswell). Their versions of the new Gibb song ‘Angel of Mercy’ and the Beatles’ ‘Here, There and Everywhere’ were vaguely considered for a single, but they were still very young and nothing came of it. Maurice and John Merchant recorded them and Maurice probably played instrumental tracks.

Around the same time Samantha sang on a recording of a song written by her older brother Adam and his friend Fred (last name unknown) called ‘Without You’.

I would love to hear those songs! I bet they sound great even though they were very young at the time. I mean....they had the Gibb brothers helping them out!

I'm sorry I forgot to add the link. I found this last night while looking for info on that Lifetime movie and ended up at Gibb Songs: 1995.

THat is all very interesting!! So glad you shared that. I wonder if the recordings are still around anymore. Maybe Majandra had a copy of it, or maybe Samantha still has copies. Would be wonderful to hear!!

Well I'm sure Majandra and Samantha have copies of the demos. If people are interested I found a song by Samantha and you can see the video here. I think it's very nice that Samantha named her band after her father and called it MEG for Maurice Ernest Gibb.

THe music has the same influence as Majandra's. THe video was interesting. I did enjoy the song. Thanks for sharing that!!!

I love the song. Love the voice as well. A duet with Majandra would be perfect.

would love to hear the early sounds of these two. Had a gab some days ago about two 12 years old that did a warm up for a band in Fl. some years ago and if any recordings existed and you brought this up.
Vallygirl
Hi Oldbill, welcome to Majandra's board. I'm glad you decided to post. I wish we could hear the songs too but it was still cool to find out that Majandra had worked in the recording studio with Maurice Gibb in 1995.

Welcome oldbill smile.gif

I wish there was a way for us to get these songs.
