Hi EOcean

busy week but thank goodness for a three day weekend. I wish it were that way every weekend! How are these books? Should I read them?
MajaBee
Oct 5 2009, 05:30 PM
I read the first 4 books and I enjoyed them. Can't tell you how much they will spoil you for the show tho since the show is only following the books only loosely. The writing
I'm actually enjoying it now to compare the books and the show. Like I recognize parts of the book but see how they changed the context to make it into something new and (more) exciting for the show.

I'll have to check out the books then Majabee... from your posts they seem really different from the show! Good to hear that you like the s how better, sometimes it is the exact opposite!

EO, I to like the books, but like Majabee I like the TV show better.

Hi all!
I bought the books ... haven't read them yet ... familiar theme I've got going here ... too many books ... too little time ... too many shows ... too little time ... too many movies ... too little time ...

I hear you on that Watcher! Why can't the seasons show in the summer time when things are less busy!

Haven't gotten to this weeks episode of Vampire Diaries yet. Hopefully by tomorrow. I still have a lot on my DVR list to watch. I swear I record 7 shows on Thursdays

Yeah ... AMEN, EO, Aurora!!! ... I work nights and I've got an overload on Thursday and Friday Nights also ... my DVR only records 2 shows at a time ... So I had the cable company bring me another one ...

Aurrorastarr - no Dollhouse this past Friday... No worries. Glad it is staying for a 2nd season. Almost got cancelled due to low ratings! We need to tell all our friends to watch it!

I've enjoyed the episodes so far.
Watcher! twodvrs, that's great

At&T Uverse you can record up to four shows at a time. it works for me although its expensive.
I've been a bad Vampire Diaries fan and haven't watched this weeks episode yet! I haven't even watched Supernatural!

I've been on a Sam Rockwell kick ever since I saw "moon" over the summer and watched a few of his movies over the weekend. I am also half way through my student teaching so I was putting together my portfolio which is a lot of work. Plus teaching and preparing for lessons. The first two years are the hardest for teachers.
Hope everyone had a good weekend!

EO, that’s not a good sign, when a TV show is not shown three/four weeks into the series. I hope we get a full second season.

Hi EO ... yeah that 4 at once feature is very tempting ... plus I think AT&T might be cheaper than my cable ... a little concerned about the internet though since there's is DSL ...
I heard that Dollhouse was the lowest rated series ever to be re-newed ... probably wouldn't have been renewed if it was anyone other than Joss!
EOcean214
Oct 25 2009, 04:36 PM
I think you're right Watcher. At the same time though, when it was in fear of getting cancelled, the following week ratings went up 60%. Now if it could just stay that way. It doesn't help that every other week it doesn't air. This Friday's episode was unbelievable, but now it won't be back I think until December. Probably hoping to get more ratings during the winter term since all the other shows will be re-runs. It's definately worth checking out!
Sad that Vampire Diaries was a re-run. Oh well

Gives me more time to do work!

Have you seen the 'Apocolypse' episode of Dollhouse? ... for some reason they never aired it ... and it's the best one of the Series!
(it's on the DVD ... The showed it at Comic-Con ... and ... WOW!)

So obnoxious! It 'recorded' my programs but when I clicked on last weeks vampire diaries it was a black screen! Along with all my other shows!!! to top it off I woke up to a dead car battery on saturday. it was a bad weekend. everything is fixed though and I hope I can catch up on Vampire Diareis. Really? didn't even give it a chance. Stupid fox network! They had great four episodes and then said they were going to have at least 13 episodes this season I thought. It was suppose to come back December. Sad Days!

Our Joss will soon make another brilliant show!

Aurorrastarr, I posted this on my Joss whedon Thread in the Nathan Fillion forum but thought you might find this interesting. Some speculate they might take Dollhouse to the internet or comic books. I love the Buffy comics and could definately see that move. I can also see the internet idea because of Dr. Horrible. Here is the link:
screenrant.comSorry I haven't been around much. Finishing my teaching internship and have been reading and catching up on some shows during the break. Hope you have a wonderful thanksgiving! I'll post again once I get caught up with Vampire Diaries! Things piled up on me!

Did you catch Dollhouse last night? I haven't watched it yet.
My tv has been funny. Has the vampire diaries been re-runs? It hasn't been recording that or supernatural and I wasn't sure if that was the reason why. Now I'm probably majorly behind on both shows.

It especially makes me sad since it is supernatural's last season!

The last new episodes for tVD and SPN aired Nov 19th. If you have trouble keeping up with your TV schedule, I recoomend this site:
http://www.pogdesign.co.uk/cat/ I'd be lost without it for sure! You can personalize it, so it only gives you the shows you watch. And you can mark the episodes that you've already watched.
Oh and, we don't know yet whether this will be SPN's last season or not...

I finally got caught up with Dollhouse. I’m going to miss it when it’s over

I was perusing the History Channel and found this.
Vampires Secrets: Feb. 6th - 5 pm Eastern
Since Bram Stoker first published his novel Dracula in 1897, the world's most popular vampire has made his appearance in 44 languages. The vampire myth however, is much older than Count Dracula, popping up from Athens to Beijing almost 1000 years before the Transylvanian legend. Vampire legends have two things in common: drinking blood and returning from the dead. Long before Jesus urged his followers to drink his blood and eat his flesh, prehistoric man held similar rituals. From the Bible and ancient Mesopotamian history to blood drinking societies in New York, we reveal the amazing truth behind one of the most terrifying legends in history.

I think I've seen bits of that documentary during halloween. It's pretty interesting history. Have you read The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova? It's one of my top five favorite books of all times. Really goes into Dracula and vampire mythology. You should check it out!
I cried in dollhouse finale. Very bittersweet. I felt like it had two endings though. Kind of unsettling for me at least. Oh well
