A frenetic episode where the staff of Seattle Grace are running around like mad people trying to secure their futures ahead of the merger. Obviously we saw the departure of some of the minor characters such as Nurse Olivia and Derek came across as a character with whom the audience could have empathy with which has not always been the case of late.

I loved the scenes with Izzie of course - the wig scenes were great and I think they handled the whole issue quite well. It is such a traumatic thing and Izzie's determination to prove she could still do her job was wonderful. Katie of course is awesome with comedy and the expressions when she talks about going for red hair and how real the bad wig looked where priceless.

Overall I though the episode was more of a filler - preparing us for things to come and laying the foundations for the impending merger.

As fillerish as it was i thought it was a pretty decent epi nod.gif, a nice break from all the heavy drama. We got some good laughs. I enjoyed all of Izzie's scenes, thought her and Alex were pretty cute. Loved that it was her Mum that sent her the wig. I also liked how Derek put in a good word for Izzie to the Chief, although it does make me wonder if that is somehow gonna backfire.

Due to personal opinion every episode comes with its share of qualms - i've gotta say that they sure did a good job of masking George's death. In the trailer scene at the end when Izzie told Alex that for a few hours in surgery she forgot that she had cancer and forgot that he was dead it took me a while to realise who she was refering to blush.gif. Although the episode seemed to be missing something/someone, George's death hasn't made the impact that i thought it would have done. I guess his lack of screen time throughout season 5 has lessened the blow that it would of otherwise created which is a shame because George was a really important character and it seems that everyone has forgotten that he even existed, that or they don't really care (the only exception being Izzie who still seems to be having a hard time dealing with it), but i supose with the impending merger and the worry that comes with it over their jobs, they haven't really had the time to process everything that's happened yet. Anyhow, will have to watch this space and see how everything plays out...
