"Family Ties"

Elena (Nina Dobrev) asks Stefan (Paul Wesley) to escort her to the town's annual Founder's Party. Vicki (Kayla Ewell) gets Tyler (Michael Trevino) to ask her to the party, then accuses him of trying to hide their relationship from his family. Zach (guest star Chris William Martin) reveals a useful family secret to Stefan. At the party, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) tells Elena a story about the Salvatore family's past, leaving Elena with questions that Stefan refuses to answer. Finally, Stefan takes action to get Damon out of his life for good. Steven R. McQueen, Sara Canning, Katerina Graham, Candice Accola and Zach Roerig also star. Guy Ferland directed the episode written by Andrew Kreisberg & Brian Young.

Yeah, the show is based loosely on the books.


This was a good episode ; it was great seeing Stefan being proactive with regards to Damon. It looks as if Stefan can be equally as devious as Damon. I’m looking forward to next week.

This show gets better and better. I love how you see the strengths of each character develop in each episode. I agree with you Aurorastar, Stefan will definitely be as devious as Damon when it comes to Elena.

I love seeing Bonnie adapting and realizing her powers. So far she's one of my favorite characters

re: towns people

there was this story about the people of the town gathering together to fight against the werewolf, so I guess this is very that story line is coming from

I loved the shout-out to Twilight and Anne Rice, especially when they referenced that scene with Louis (Interview with the Vampire) when Stefan poisoned Damon and threw him into that dirt hole.

I agree this show just keeps getting better and better!
