
Heh, a 'Somerhalter' sounds like a strappy sexy little number you might wear in warm weather (that ties in the back for your neck).
People are really stupid about names that seem the least bit complicated or 'foreign.'
I went to school with a girl whose last name was Colurso (which was pronounced just like it looks col-ur-so) and the teachers always mangled it and hesitated before pronouncing it, and added multiple extra syllables, etc!
And that doesn't even have nearly as many letters as Ian's last name.
I think the 'eon' thing was so far off, it probably was a really sleepy editor/bad typist using spellcheck and just hitting 'yes' at all the suggested subtitutions!
Oh well... when Ian is a 'household name' some day, more people will know how to spell it! They figured out Zellweger!
