 Rising star Jackson Rathbone, currently known to legions of fans as Jasper Hale in the Twilight movie saga -- based on Stephenie Meyer’s successful Young Adult vampire novels -- is focusing his spare time on his side-project band 100 Monkeys www.myspace.com/these100monkeys). Also comprised of his actor-roommate Ben Graupner, and his friend Ben Johnson (the former drummer of the Stevedores), the old friends from high school are taking their unique improvisational music in front of live audiences.
In front of a packed house, the band, accompanied by a few of their musician friends, rocked the 24K Lounge in
West Hollywood on January 6th. While juggling such interesting acting projects as Dread, based on a Clive Barker short story, S. Darko, the sequel to cult fave Donnie Darko, and M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, Rathbone and 100 Monkeys are working on two albums for release this year -- one will be an improv album, made up on the spot and recorded in one take, while the other is comprised of songs they’ve actually written.
