KROQ ALMOST ACOUSTIC CHRISTMAS

A celebration of the popular bands who captured the attention of listeners throughout the year, the annual KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas took residence for two nights at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif.. Some of today’s strongest, most compelling musicians made up the line-up, which spanned two, sold-out nights, on December 8th and 9th.
Although many of the fans were there to see Night One headliners Linkin Park, and Night Two headliners Muse, the rest of the bill was just as strong, with such acts as Bad Religion, Angels & Airwaves, Jimmy Eat World, Avenged Sevenfold, Serj Tankian (of System of a Down), Modest Mouse, Silversun Pickups, Rise Against, The Shins and Spoon, along with female fronted Paramore and Feist, spread out over the two shows. Making a surprise four-song appearance, surrounded by brightly lit Christmas trees, Las Vegas quartet The Killers lent their own brand of holiday cheer, in the form of their campy holiday song, “Don’t Shoot Me Santa.”
