KROQ WEENIE ROAST Y FIESTA
Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre
Irvine, Calif.
May 17, 2008
By Christina Radish
Although the annual KROQ Weenie Roast Y Fiesta, taking place at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine, Calif. on May 17th, had a line-up comprised of some of today’s most popular rock and punk bands, it was clear that everyone there was anxious to see metal gods Metallica.
Always one of the most eagerly anticipated and hardest to get into concerts of the year, the Weenie Roast hosted 10 bands on the main stage, with four more acts on a smaller side stage, including New York natives The Bravery. Veterans, such as The Offspring, Bad Religion and Pennywise, were joined by bands that are still growing in popularity, such as Artreyu, Seether, Rise Against, Scars on Broadway (which boasts two of the members of System of a Down), Flogging Molly and The Raconteurs (featuring Jack White).
Check out some of the exclusive photographs from the KROQ Weenie Roast Y Fiesta concert that were captured by MediaBlvd Magazine.
