Britney Spears’ losing streak finally came to an end, when she took home three moonmen, for Video of the Year, Best Female Video and Best Pop Video for her single “Piece of Me,” at the 25^th Annual MTV Video Music Awards held at Paramount Studios in Hollywood on September 7^th. Host Russell Brand brought his British sense of humor to the memorable event, which has become one of the most talked about nights in entertainment.

This year, for the first time, the fans helped to determine the nominees and winners, which included such artists as Chris Brown (Best Male Video), Linkin Park (Best Rock Video), The Pussycat Dolls (Best Dancing in a Video), Lil Wayne (Best Hip-Hop Video) and Tokio Hotel (Best New Artist). While DJ AM and Travis Barker celebrated 25 years of music with new and classic hits, viewers were treated to performances by the Jonas Brothers, Pink, T.I., Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Lil Wayne with T-Pain and Leona Lewis, Kid Rock and Paramore, with Kayne West closing the show.
