TV/MOVIE DISH



Faith Hill had her turn in November with a NBC special and now her husband Tim McGraw is coming to the Peacock on April 6 for his third network special. “Tim McGraw: Reflected” will highlight performances from both New York and his home in Nashville, Tennessee. He will be joined by special guests Hank Williams Jr., the Dancehall Doctors and his wife.



Coty, Inc. is teaming up with Touchstone Television to develop a “Desperate Housewivesfragrance that is set to hit stores sometime this fall.


Variety reports that John Travolta will be sharping up his singing skills and polishing off his dance shoes for the big-screen adaption of the hit musical “Hairspray.” Travolta has signed on to play housewife Edna Turnblad and will be joined by Queen Latifah in the role as Motormouth Maybelle. No word yet on who will play the lead of Tracy Turnblad.



For all those who were fans of the “Charmed” ones, the show is coming to an end this May after eight seasons on the WB Network. Fan favorite Brian Krause is set to appear in upcoming episodes of the show but no word yet on how the show will end its run.




UPCOMING DVD RELEASES


King Kong will be roaring onto DVD on March 28 and the two-disk set is loaded with bonus features of behind the scenes footage about the making of the film and vignettes about some of the locations of the film. Universal is partnering up with Papa John’s, Kelloggs, Glad, Hostess, Orville Redenbacher’s, Nestle, Toshiba, Chase and Kodak to promote the film and cross-promote the movie with those companies products.



SCOOPING OUT THE SPOILERS


Jonathon Kent may have died on “Smallville” but his portrayer John Schneider is heading to “King of the Hill” The episode, scheduled to air March 12 on FOX, will have Schneider voicing a character known as The Ace. Johnny Knoxville shows
up a week later as the owner of a pooper scooper business.



Greg Grunberg (“Alias,” “Felicity”) will guest star in the March 7 episode of “House” as the husband of a decreased woman whom House questions about a mysterious illness the woman had that deems her heart unsuitable as a donor for a dying patient that desperately needs it. Howard Hesseman will play Henry, the man who needs the heart transplant.
