For someone who has been writing songs since the age of 8, its no surprise that his songs are polished and his lyrics are way beyond his years.

At 17, most teenagers are worrying about what to wear to the mall, while Teddy Geiger is juggling television appearances and his first headlining tour. Even before the album’s release, Geiger was getting buzz from his appearance as a finalist on VH1’s “In Search of the New Partridge Family,” and for his role on the short lived television series “Love Monkey,” starring Tom Cavanagh. Playing Wayne, a young, undiscovered musician, Geiger sang his way into a record deal, in a case of art imitating life. With the Columbia Records release of his debut album, “Underage Thinking,” he landed appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres show, MTV’s Total Request Live, and Live with Regis and Kelly. His first single “For You I Will (Confidence)” entered the Billboard charts “Top 100” at number 36.
For someone who has been writing songs since the age of 8, its no surprise that his songs are polished and his lyrics are way beyond his years. Its hard to believe the gravely voice coming through the speaker is only 17. I would best describe him as John Mayer’s “Mini Me” with a slightly better voice. His songs mostly deal with love and broken hearts. Once again, hard to believe he would know much about that, yet somehow he pulls it off. If he’s this accomplished now, I look forward to what he has to offer in the future. I would recommend this album to anyone who likes John Mayer, and even those who don’t.
