http//scifivision.com | After such a monumental season three finale last year that revealed the fact some of the crash victims made it off the island, as well as with the introduction of “flash forwards,” fans were left to wonder if such a finale could be topped. They were not to be disappointed. This year’s season led up to and filled many of the gaps between “island time” and last year’s finale scene, the finale finally answering the question plaguing fans since then, “Who is in the coffin?” (although you wont find that out until the last moments of the episode)
The finale not only finally details their escape and subsequent rescue from the island, but also answers many other questions and poses new ones. The main answer revealed is probably how it is that no one has been able to find the island, even if that answer is filled with more questions.
There is also a lot of information to process in the episode, especially dealing with, as Ben puts it, “time traveling bunnies,” but as usual with this show, the explanations often makes you feel more, well, lost. That is what makes LOST such an amazing and powerful show – it draws you in, and gives you just enough information to keep you guessing which way the show is going next, and has you coming up with a myriad of theories, that will most probably be debunked by the next episode.
The episode has quite a few emotional scenes as well, including sad departures between characters (and a kiss!), as well as a long-awaited reunion.
Besides the shocking last moments of the episode, there is also a revelation during a conversation between one of the “losties” and Charles Widmore. A more minor, but still important revelation is how far in the future the season three finale scene takes place.
The two-hour finale, which aired after a pop-up version of a repeat of the most recent episode, complete with missing scenes, is definitely one of the most charged season finales on television this season. The good news is that it seems there is another online web game in the works for the show, per an employment ad for Octagon Global Recruiting that aired during the show. The bad news? Fans will have to wait eight months until the fifth season of LOST. |
