I think that saying "many things happened in this episode" would be a bit of an understatement! Nathan won his election, and Micah rigged the vote. Linderman, D.L., and Ted were mudered. Mohinder and HRG are in what seems to be an eternal standoff. And Sylar is ready, and more than capable, to blow the begesus out of .07 percent of the population!
First off, I have to point out how weird it is to see Rena Sofer on two shows at the same time! At least, she was mildly more interesting in Heroes than in 24 today. In this episode, she makes yet another of her entirely random appearances, and Linderman displayed his abilities as a healer when she was cured of her handicap. I have to admit that was a fascinating scene.
The episode started out with Peter going radioactive and telling Claire that she to kill him. Then, all of sudden, he's automatically able to control his bomb-like tendencies. Who really thought that Peter was going to blow up anyways? The season finale is not until next week, people! Besides, what was more disturbing to me was that Claire seemed ready to kill him and not the slightest bit perturbed by taking someone's life. Perhaps, she thought that they would be able to revive him later… Anyways, that scene was nicely capped off with Sylar using his hearing powers to catch every single word they said!
One of the best scenes of the episode was when Sylar caught up with Ted, flipped the police vehicle over, and stole his powers. My one problem with this moment was that it was oddly reminiscent of X-men 3, when Magneto flipped over the trucks that Mystique was in. Hmm…Can anyone say 'copycat'?
Some other great moments in the episode were…
-Micah working his powers at the election
-The extent of Candice's amazing powers. (I still think that she could rise above the other heroes with her power, and become a key player in this game. She has got one amazing power!)
-Linderman's death. (For some reason, I don't think we've seen the end of Linderman…)
-The brief aligning of HRG and Matt with DL and Jessica
-Jessica's ill-timed transformation into Nikki.
-Sylar standing on top of the building towards the end of the episode. He looked amazingly cool at that moment!
Overall, this was a good episode, and it served as a fitting penultimate episode to precede the undoubtedly cataclysmic finale! I give it a 9/10.
