Now entering its third season, "Hell's Kitchen" has continued to mesmerize viewers with its increasingly cruel yet very entertaining head chef, Gordon Ramsay.  I don't thinks its fair that viewers have labeled him as the "Simon Cowell of the kitchen," because there is no doubt in my mind that Simon himself would cower before Ramsay's scorching glare.  Gordon Ramsay has never held his tongue, and he always manages to flatten the egos of all the chefs that he tries to chisel into perfection.  Ramsay is what makes "Hell's Kitchen" unlike any other reality show you'll ever see.

Of course every competition brings players who feel as though they were born for this opportunity, and every competition also brings those who make you wonder why they bothered to try out.  For example, someone who has self-proclaimed that they falter under pressure should probably not enter into a competition where pressure is simply part of the job.  It boggles me why Aaron thought he could withstand the heat of "Hell's Kitchen," but what vexes me even more is why he was even selected for the show.  Perhaps the producers thought it would make for some good drama, or at the very least, boost ratings.  Whatever the case is, Aaron's antics are the highlight of the show for me.

It seems as though Aaron has the rare ability to strike pity in anyone.  Perhaps this was the reason why he was spared from the chopping block.  All the guys were rallying about him, desperate to boost his morale.  Even Ramsay took a break from his usual berating routine and tried to up the confidence of the blubbering cowboy.  I could understand to a certain point why Aaron was so upset, but the fact that he started to cry at what seemed to be every available opportunity…

Contrary to last week, the girl's pulled apart from their own personal wars once "She works at the Waffle House" Tiffany had been removed from the show.  The girls went on to serve all the tables, and the guys were so dysfunctional that the ladies actually had to finish the guy's remaining service.  I was glad that Rock was selected as the best of the worst, because I had not seen Chef Ramsay yell at him once throughout the show -- plus with a name like "Rock," the guy has to be pretty cool!

Concerning the out-of-kitchen scenes, who didn't laugh when Scott and Maryanne came in through the dorm doors banging on the pots and pans in the morning hours?  The two of them have done that every single season of "Hell's Kitchen," so the cooks should have probably been expecting that.  As for Bonnie, I'm beginning to wonder if she has any talents.  I still can't figure out why she wandered into the boy's dorm wearing next to nothing.  Whatever the case, it certainly got the guy's attention!

Then came the shocker, instead of picking Aaron and tiny Eddie, Rock chose Eddie and someone else (still not clear on all the names yet).  I'm glad that Rock decided not to put Aaron out there, it should probably fill Aaron with some more confidence.  I was actually hoping that Vinnie would have been nominated -- I really don't like his overly smug demeanor.  The idiot talked back to Ramsay (a major faux-pas) and he actually laughed while Ramsay was scolding him (an even bigger faux-pas)!

In the end, I believe that Ramsay made the right choice, although I'm not exactly clear on why he was so unnecessarily cold to Eddie after he was kicked out.  I cannot wait for next episode and I'm eagerly anticipating the exciting drama that this show brings out.  Never has cooking been this interesting!
