The Office: "Foliage"

I had half a mind not to write a review of this episode.  Call me an Angela-ish person if you will, but the subject matter of this episode was highly uncomfortable for me.  Maybe one of the reasons I didn't care for this eppie was because my parents were visiting and decided to watch The Office with me.  I had to endure exchanged glances between them, looks that said, "this is what he does in his spare time," and no matter how many assurances I gave them -- "not every episode of The Office is like this, mom!" -- I felt letdown by the hilarious geniuses behind The Office.

My parents are strict Catholics, so forgive them for not thinking highly of the topic of indecent exposure, and the many mentions of specific…er…things did not alleviate their mood.  My parents also raised me Catholic, so I would hope that you all would forgive me as well, if I just glossed over certain aspects of the episode, and just pretended that some story lines did not exist.  That being said, only a few episode details are left to discuss.

Some worthy-of-mentioning items…

-Dwight's 'demerit' remark towards Jim, and then Dwight's lengthy explanation of how what seems like 1,000 offenses would lead up to a written complaint to his direct superior…Jim.

-Jim then giving Dwight [insert odd made-up threat here]

-Dwight replying, scared, "What is that?"  Jim then replies, "Oh, you don't want to know!"

-Dwight's flyer of the alleged suspect -- which looks remarkably like Dwight!

-Kevin's child-like fascination with women's bathroom.

-Michael bursting into tears -- always a funny sight!

-Creed's absolute indignation that nothing wrong had happened.  I always love when Creed gets some face time, and just a side note, doesn't Creed bear an uncanny resemblance to Lost's John Locke?  Hmmm….

-Angela having to buy clothes from kid's stores, and then having to settle for pioneer doll clothes.

-Dwight, following a lead, heads into the bathroom to find the perp, only to see his reflection!

Despite the subject matter, it was an okay episode of TheOffice.  Wish it could have been just a little more G-rated, though.  I give this episode a 7/10.

Feel free to leave comments, I read and enjoy every singleone!
